The View From The Shard The Shard is an iconic, landmark building on the London skyline, designed by Master Architect Renzo Piano. Then journey to Level 69 where the view is revealed and London opens out before you. Here, in the sky above London, you'll experience an astonishing 360 degree, 64 km (40 mile) view over the city and beyond where the past, present and future of London will be unfurled beneath you, brought to life in multimedia displays. For the best view in town, ascend to Level 72, at 244 m, the highest public level of The Shard. You'll be exposed to the elements with sounds of the city around you. You'll see the lavishly decorated State Apartments containing priceless furniture in glorious colours and St George's Chapel, home to the 14th Century Order of the Royal Garter, our senior chivalric order.   Visitors can still enjoy the extensive Castle Precincts, St George's Chapel (except on Sundays and certain other dates - please see below), Queen Mary's Dolls' House and the exhibition in the Drawings Gallery. St. George's Chapel is open daily but closed to visitors on Sundays as services are held throughout the day. As a working royal palace, the Castle is used frequently by The Queen for State ceremonies and official entertaining and opening arrangements may change with no notice.
