TOUR DETAILS This journey through Arizona’s history blends indigenous heritage with a rugged off-road ride. The Ancient Ruins and Diamondback Gulch Combo Tour is a remarkable adventure with both an exciting 4x4 trek and an up-close look at a time when the Sinagua people called this area home.  Your Certified Interpretive Guide will meet you at the Pink® Jeep® Tour Plaza in Sedona. You’ll climb aboard a custom-built, open-air Pink® Jeep® Wranglers and settle in for a true Arizona experience. Wear comfortable shoes, as there is a 30-40 minute walk to reach the Honanki Heritage site once you arrive at the Ancient Ruins site.  To start the tour, your local guide will take you past Sedona’s most iconic red-rock formations. After arriving in the Coconino National Forest, head down the remote Greasy Spoon trail. This section of an original wagon route between Sedona and Prescott dates back to a time before Arizona was a state. Continue on to Sidewinder Trail and see how the rocky terrain falls into Diamondback Gulch—a deep ravine that slices through the land. Hold on while your guide expertly navigates the steep descent and climbs out again.  Then it’s on to Ancient Ruin, where you’ll be immersed in the mystery of the Sinagua people. You’ll see primitive remnants where they lived and worked from 600 AD until the 1400s. Little is known about the Sinagua, but pictographs and petroglyphs offer a glimpse into their history.  Explore the Honanki Heritage site, a 700-year-old cliff dwelling where the Sinagua made their home. Learn how they farmed and hunted, their complicated trading system with other tribes—and how they suddenly vanished in the early 1400s. Although it’s still an active archeological site, enigmas surrounding the Sinagua have yet to be solved.  At the end of the tour you’ll journey back through the forest to Sedona, where Arizona’s rich history lives on. NOTE: If you have never ridden a bike this may not be the activity for you. Riding a scooter requires side to side balance similar to riding a bike. The equipment recap and skills overview session provides riders with a quick overview of the scooter controls, knowledge, and experience needed to safely operate the Scooters. You will be guided through a low speed ride and an emergency stop to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience.

This very popular tour offers something for every member of your family … a four hour, multifaceted experience. First is naturalist led boat tour where you will encounter and learn about area's wildlife like dolphins, manatees, sea turtles, ospreys, herons, egrets and the beautiful Roseate Spoonbill. The second part of your experience is on an uninhabited, remote barrier island beach where your family can collect the many varieties of seashells, walk or swim in the beautiful turquoise waters or just relax on a beach. Next, your captain will  then take you on a family friendly fishing trip that is suitable for young children. While this great for guests with no fishing experience, it can also keep an avid angler happy.  You may catch the beautiful sea trout, the acrobatic lady fish or the speedy mackerel,..an activity sure to please every family member.

Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Sanctuary guests can have a bird’s eye view of the vets working, and can experience the depth that Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary has for the care and welfare of the Australian native animal population. See xrays, ultrasounds and endoscopes streamed live on a flat screen for guests to observe during the procedure. Even watch from a surgeons eye view by a camera mounted on the surgical light!  Free Flight Bird Show National Trust Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary presents the Free Flight Bird Show! Meet some of Australia’s most beautiful species of birds from the largest bird in flight, the Australian pelican, to the colourful parrots, birds of prey, endangered species and the majestic wedge-tailed eagle. Marvel at the beauty of these incredible creatures as they free-fly across the audience in a wonderful display set against the Sanctuary’s natural environment. Make sure you hang around to have your photo taken with a bird of prey at the end of the show! Crocodile Live Show Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is excited to have Boss Hog as a new member of the team. At almost five meters in length this massive salt water crocodile is an incredible sight to see. Come and learn about Boss Hog and his girlfriend Lilly as well as see the fresh water crocodiles.
