Der X5 E53 wurde von BMW als sportlicher Alleskönner konzipiert. Für das Gelände und gut ausgebaute Straßen gleichermaßen geeignet, sollte der SUV hohes Fahrvergnügen mit einem großen Raumangebot verknüpfen. Die BMW-typische Sportlichkeit durfte ebenfalls nicht fehlen. Um all den angesprochenen Kriterien Herr zu werden, konnte der sportliche X5 mit optionaler Luftfederung für eine (2-Corner) oder beide (4-Corner) Achsen bestellt werden. Unser einbaufertiges Kompressor-Ventil passt auf alle X5-E53-Modelle der Baujahre 1999 bis 2006, die mit einer Luftfederung der Hinterachse (2-Corner) ausgestattet sind. Das Doppelventil finden Sie im Kofferraum in der Ersatzradmulde auf dem Kompressor.
Das Kompressor-Ventil verteilt Druckluft
Im Luftfahrwerk nimmt das Kompressor-Ventil eine wichtige Funktion ein. Das Ventil erhält die Druckluft vom Kompressor des Systems. Dieser hat zuvor Außenluft angesaugt, diese komprimiert und dann in der Lufttrocknereinheit des Kompressors entfeuchtet. Nun ist die Druckluft bereit, in die jeweiligen Luftfedern abgegeben zu werden. Dazu wird sie zunächst vom Kompressor an das Kompressor-Ventil weitergeleitet. Über die Druckluft der Luftfedern wird das Fahrzeug zum einen gefedert, zum anderen wird das Fahrzeugniveau über die Luftfedern reguliert. Dies schafft Fahrzeugstabilität, auch bei hoher Zuladung oder im Anhängerbetrieb.
Ein Defekt setzt die Luftfederung faktisch außer Kraft
Bei jeder Fahrt sind die Magnetventile des Kompressor-Ventils gefordert, Druckluft durchzulassen oder den Durchfluss zu unterbrechen. Dies geschieht situationsabhängig in Echtzeit. Sensoren übermitteln Signale, anhand derer die elektrischen Magnetventile mit Strom versorgt werden oder nicht. Häufige Öffnungs- und Schließvorgänge können dem Doppelventil mit der Zeit zu schaffen machen. Außerdem kann das Kompressor-Ventil Schaden nehmen, wenn der Kompressor Druckluft zuführt, die nicht entfeuchtet worden ist. Schnell ist die Steuerung der elektrischen Magnetventile hinüber und die korrekte Funktion des Luftfahrwerks kann nicht mehr gewährleistet werden.
Installation leicht gemacht
Farbliche Kennzeichnungen am Kompressor-Ventil erleichtern die korrekte Installation. Doch dazu gleich mehr, denn zunächst ist es wichtig, die Arbeitsweise des Doppelventils zu verstehen. Das Kompressor-Magnetventil arbeitet nach dem 2/2-Wegeventil-System. Dazu verfügt es über 2 elektrische Magnetventile, 3 Druckluftanschlüsse mit jeweils 4 mm Durchmesser und 2 möglichen Stellungen der Magnetventile. Über den vorderen Druckluftanschluss wird die komprimierte Luft aus dem Kompressor zugeführt und an die Magnetventile weitergeleitet. Wird ein Magnetventil mit Strom versorgt, öffnet es sich und lässt Druckluft über den zugehörigen Druckluftanschluss zur angeschlossenen Luftfeder durch. Die linke Luftfeder wird vom roten, die rechte Luftfeder vom blauen Druckluftanschluss versorgt.
