After your guide gives you background on the history and culture of the area, you’ll arrive in the lovely Positano.  Following in the footsteps of literary greats like Shelley, Goethe and Steinbeck, you’ll be free to explore this little town on foot, sampling its incredible seafood, browsing the fashionable boutiques, or ordering bespoke, handmade sandals. Trying to see the sights of the Amalfi Coast on your own is a notorious hassle with lines, traffic, and all those hair-pin turns. This tour takes out the stress and distills it into an unforgettable day trip of culture, history, and archaeology. In a group or 15 people or fewer, you will have intimate access to your expert tour guide who will not only ensure that you get where you want to go, but also make the coast come alive with the stories of its past. In good weather it is possible (and enjoyable) to swim on Positano beach. It is recommend to bring a bathing suit and towel if this interests you. In the winter months the tour might replace Positano with Sorrento as more shops and restaurants are open there during this time.

After departing San Francisco, you’ll head through California’s capital city, Sacramento, through the Sierra foothills and into the famous Gold Rush Country, cresting a high mountain pass within the Sierra Nevada. Then we’ll wind our way through large pine forests, before dramatically descending into South Lake Tahoe. Afternoon:  In the evening, we’ll settle into our centrally located hotel and then head out to happy hour with the Apres Ski crowd at the base of Heavenly Mountain Resort before a comfy night’s rest.   SAMPLE ITINERARY – DAY 2 (FRIDAY) SOUTH LAKE TAHOE: CHOOSE YOUR ADVENTURE All Day:  While masses of people are piling into their cars to head to the mountains, you’ll be on the first lift up to carve the groomers, or to get fresh tracks in that Heavenly powder! Don’t worry if you’re not really into skiing, our guides will offer the opportunity to go out on a fabulously scenic drive on the mountain roads surrounding Lake Tahoe, or maybe even a snowshoe adventure! No problem, we’re flexible: our guides know their stuff, and we’ll help you fit in a scenic drive in the morning, get yourself a half day ticket on the mountain, and then hit the casinos all night long!   SAMPLE ITINERARY – DAY 3 (SATURDAY) SOUTH LAKE TAHOE TO SQUAW VALLEY & TRUCKEE, CA Morning:  We’ll hit the road early this morning and head toward historic Tahoe City taking in views of Emerald Bay before heading toward the famous Squaw Valley Resort. If you’re heading up onto this epic ski and snowboarding destination today, you’ll be glad if you dusted off the cobwebs on Heavenly yesterday. This place is the real deal, where you can often see extreme athletes pushing the envelope, soaring from the cliffs as you ride up the famous KT-22 Express. Make sure you bring your swimsuit too: the High Camp Pool and Hot Tub high on the resort is open for business…all winter long! This side of the lake also offers amazing snowshoeing or cross country skiing opportunities as well. Once again, you’ll be offered the choice to head up on the ski hill, or we’ll take you out on the trails through Stanislaus National Forest or maybe a snowshoe hike near the Donner Memorial State Park and explore the history of the ill-fated pioneers of the Donner Party as they struggled to travel west in their wagons and became stranded in the winter of 1846-47. The tour starts early in the morning at 03:30 am with a pick up time for the hotels in Alanya city center. The first stop will be in Korkuteli for the breakfast. If you will not have lunch box from the hotel, you can buy some snacks, tea, coffee there in a cafe. On the way to Pamukkale there are some other stops to make the long journey more easy and comfortable. The closest city to Pamukkale is Denizli, there you will stop to enjoy the beautiful panoramic view. Next in program is an open buffet lunch at a local restaurant in Pamukkale surroundings. From the restaurant it will possible to see the hill with the stunning white terraces. On arrival to Pamukkale first discover the ruins of Hierapolis (amphitheater, city walls, bathhouses, necropolis, etc.) to learn more about the history and culture of this area. Then you can walk on the white travertines enjoying the full beauty of this natural wonder and swim in its natural pools with the hot spring water. Not far from the travertines there is an ancient pool called Cleopatra's pool, swimming there is optional and for an extra charge.  Because of the glorious white travertine and historical values of Hierapolis Ancient City Pamukkale was added to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage (1988). On the way back to you will pass Denizli one more time and stop for some shopping (textile / leather shop and onyx fabric). You will have dinner at a local restaurant and after drive directly till Alanya. There will be the last stop before you come back to your hotel.

A chance to visit the mountains and see some remains of its Moorish and Roman existence. Silves (The old Moorish Capital) castle and cathedral. Climb the Monchique Mountains to Foia - the highest point of the Algarve. After lunch you will journey over to the beautiful town of Lagos - indoor slave market (the first in Europe), Saint Anthony’s golden church, fort and old town. Afterwards you continue on to Cape Saint Vincent, the most southwesterly point of Europe, known as “the End of the World”.
