Kew Gardens, is a World Heritage Site located in 121 hectares of stunning vistas with six magnificent glasshouses set in a beautiful landscape beside the River Thames between Richmond and KEW in south-west London. Kew Gardens represents more than 250 years of historical gardens. It is home to a remarkable collection of over 30,000 types of plants from all over the world that range from the decorative to the peculiar. Kew Gardens provide opportunities for public enjoyment and enrichment and the behind-the-scenes scientific work helps ensure a sustainable future for plants and people. In the summer of 2004, Kew's determination to make serious botany great fun for children was demonstrated with the opening of 'Climbers and Creepers'. Bringing a new use to an old cycad house by White Peaks, Climbers and Creepers engages children from around 3-9 years in the pleasures of learning more about plants and their relationships with animals and people. Apart from the sheer beauty and tranquillity of the garden's landscapes Kew offers a wonderful day out for all, whether horticulturally, historically or botanically inclined. Spring: Mid-February - early March: A million-and-a-half crocuses below the Temple of Bellona between Victoria Gate and King William's Temple - one of Kew's most spectacular displays (typically late Feb - early March). Camellias between Victoria Gate and the Shirley Sherwood Gallery of Botanic Art. Spring bedding and spring flowers in the open woodland around the Azalea Garden. Daffodils, forsythia and cherry blossom.  Orchids, bromeliads and anthuriums in Kew’s Tropical Extravaganza, an annual display of exotic blooms in the Princess of Wales Conservatory. April - May: Lilacs near Kew Palace and White Peaks. Spring bedding in front of the Palm House. Strawberry trees west of King William's Temple and between the Princess of Wales Conservatory and Rock Garden. Winter: November - December: Fruiting trees and shrubs, winter bark. Winter-flowering cherry. January - February: Snowdrops in the Rock Garden and Conservation Area, crocuses along the Princess Walk. Witch hazels by King William's Temple. African Penguins: Visit our colony of charismatic South African birds. Join a biologist for penguin feedings at 10:30 am and 3 pm daily. The Swamp: Meet its most famous resident, Claude, an albino American alligator, who shares his home with a trio of prehistoric-looking alligator snapping turtles. Languages Living History Audio Guide at Beatles Story Albert Dock has been compiled and is narrated by John Lennon's sister Julia and is complimentary. Ten languages: Brazilian Portuguese (new), English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin (new) Polish, Russian and Spanish. We also have a family audio guide in English.   Accessibility Parking – Albert Dock has a number of car parks on site and has in total eight accessible car parking bays, with three available in car park A, near to the estate’s main entrance and five in car park B opposite The Beatles Story and Premier Inn hotel. Wheelchairs – The exhibition is fully wheelchair accessible. Due to fire evacuation procedures, we can only admit three wheelchairs on site at any one time. We have a standard wheelchair available which can either be booked in advance by telephoning +44 (0) 151 709 1963 or borrowed on the day by asking a member of staff at the main entrance (subject to availability on the day). Lifts – We have two accessible lifts: One situated at our main entrance (accompanied with audio announcements) and one located in our Fab4 Store going down to the Fab4 Cafe. As you experience one of the best attractions in LA, you’ll gain insight into the craft of costume design from the talented artists behind the wardrobes featured in Sweeney Todd and Man of Steel. Plus, our interactive design stations let you design your own costume with styles inspired by the fabrics, headpieces and gowns seen in Camelot, Sweeney Todd and The Great Gatsby. Our pre-production experience also includes a high-definition touch screen casting table where you can view the authentic headshots and audition reels from some of your favorite actors like Oscar® winner Leonardo DiCaprio, the cast of The Vampire Diaries, and more! PRODUCTION In production, you’ll learn firsthand how actors and directors make the unforgettable scenes that keep you glued to your seat. Our production soundstage features the authentic Central Perk set from the hit TV show Friends where you can record a real screen test and reenact scenes from one of the funniest episodes. Fans of The Lord of the Rings films visiting the Los Angeles can return to Middle-earth and be a part of the mind-bending special effect known as ‘forced perspective filming’, as seen in The Fellowship of the Ring. Our production soundstage also includes the famous Malibu beach house set from Two and a Half Men, the authentic Russian Soyuz capsule from the 2013 science fiction thriller Gravity, and much more.  POST-PRODUCTION The final finishing touches that turn a director’s vision into reality are added in post-production. Join in the movie making magic yourself by riding the Nimbus 2000 or Firebolt brooms seen in the Harry Potter film series or ride the Bat-pod through the streets of Gotham in our green screen experience just like the actors do while filming. We’ll also reveal the secrets behind the visual effect known as ‘motion capture.’ You’ll also see how green screen technology was used to create the celestial, deep space visuals in Gravity and the thrilling fight sequences in The Matrix. Our post-production soundstage includes a fully equipped, state-of-the-art recording studio. Once inside, you’ll learn how speech, sound effects and music are all added to film by examining the soundtrack from Gravity, which won Oscars® for Sound Editing and Sound Mixing. THE WARNER BROS. LEGACY ROOM The Warner Bros. Legacy Room is a striking visual testament to the passion, creativity and determination of the studio’s four founding brothers—Albert, Jack, Sam and Harry Warner. Along with a towering collection of awards the studio has earned, the room features many iconic costumes and props from some of the biggest movies and television shows in entertainment history.
