1 Day Tour - Loch Ness, Glen Coe & Highlands (Glasgow)

Where does the tour start? All tours start outside Gate 2 of Etihad Stadium, located in the Docklands area of the Melbourne CBD. Etihad Stadium can be easily reached via walking, train or tram (take any of trams 11, 35, 48, 70, 75, 86 or 96) and exiting at Southern Cross Station. Do I need to arrive early for my tour? It is advised that you arrive 5 minutes prior to your tour start time so that you can check in and go to the toilet or grab some snacks before the tour starts. What do I need to bring on the tour with me? It is highly recommended that you bring with you a poncho, umbrella, suncream, water and a hat. You can never guess what Melbourne's weather will do next! Do you offer tours in languages other than English? At present all of our tours are conducted only in English however we are working towards offering tours in additional languages. Is the tour suitable for all ages and for wheelchair users? The tour is suitable for all ages however unfortunately is not suitable for wheelchairs. What happens in the event of bad weather? Does the tour still run? A little rain never hurt anybody! City Sports Tours runs in all weathers. We will contact you if a tour is to be cancelled due to bad weather. If you don't hear from us then assume the tour is on!

Leaving Glasgow you travel north-east to Stirling, where your first stop is the WallaceMonument*; a towering stone testimonial to the Scottish legend William Wallace. Inside you will find fascinating exhibits leading you through the life of the real Braveheart and most impressive of all, Wallace’s legendary 5ft 6in(1.7m) tall broadsword.  You then travel further north to Gleneagles Hotel Estate - one of Scotland’s world class golf resorts and site of the 2014 Ryder Cup. Enjoy a photo opportunity here and see where the international legends of golf play.  You will continuey your journey through the pretty countryside of Perthshire to your next stop in Crieff, where we visit The Famous Grouse Experience* at Glenturret Distillery. Learn about the traditional whisky-making process, see how you measure up to the world’s largest bottle of whisky and sample some of ‘The Water of Life’ itself at the fantastic Taste Experience bar. Timberbush Tours customers can also enjoy an exclusive tasting of the Black Grouse Alpha Edition; a rich, smoky blend available only at Glenturret Distillery. Enjoy a range of tasty lunch options in the Glenturret Cafe or take a stroll in the distillery grounds. In the afternoon you will travel west past beautiful Loch Earn and down through Strathyre to Kilmahog Woollen Mill for the chance to meet Hamish the Highland cow† continue on through the Trossachs - Scotland’s first national park, known as ‘the Highlands in miniature’ for its abundance of lochs, mountains and forests, where you'll discover the lands of legendary outlaw, Rob Roy MacGregor. The City Hall stop leads to the richness and contrasts of the Marais district and the Pompidou Centre. Louvre: Between Pont Royal and Pont du Carrousel. Reveals a quarter where history and history of art are one. Champs-Elysées: Close to Pont Alexandre III. Mythical Paris-the Grand Palais, the Petit Palais and Avenue Montaigne. Beaugrenelle: located in the 15th arrondissement, open daily from 10am to 20:45. A district placed under the sign of relaxation and shopping.   Louvre Museum The Louvre Museum is unquestionably one of the finest art galleries in the world. Home to thousands of classic and modern masterpieces, the Louvre is the jewel in the crown of French culture, a towering testament to European civilisation and history.   Its quality and importance is highlighted through its popularity as the Louvre is the globes most-visited museum.   To walk through the Louvre Museum is to walk through the history of France and into the minds of kings and revolutionaries. The reigns of Louis XIII and Louis XIV saw major expansion and a linking of the palaces and halls, which make up the museum today   The Louvre Museum contains over 35,000 pieces of artwork across numerous departments including Near Eastern Antiquities, Egyptian Antiquities, Greek, Etruscan, and Roman Antiquities, Islamic Art, Sculptures, Decorative Arts, Paintings, Prints and Drawings. Masterpieces by great artists such as Da Vinci and Delacroix are part of the permanent collection of this prestigious gallery.   Surrounding this iconic pyramid building are the Carrousel gardens. These beautiful formal gardens are among the finest in the world and the perfect setting to discuss and reflect on the wonders of the gallery itself.

Day 1: Start your Melbourne immersion with the road trip everyone's talking about! Follow the historical Great Ocean Road, one of the world's most scenic coastal routes, as it winds along Victoria's southwest coast, passing long golden beaches, rugged sandstone cliffs and eucalypt-tree rainforest. At the Cape Otway Lighthouse, gaze out over the Southern Ocean and Bass Strait before tucking into a delicious Aussie style lunch. Hear the tragic tales of the Loch Ard Gorge and discover why this spectacularly wild part of Victoria is known as the Shipwreck Coast. The route also takes you among the soaring eucalypt trees of the Otway rain forest, and to the shipwreck coast where you will step down to the beach at Loch Ard Gorge and further along view the offshore sandstone stacks called the Twelve Apostles. Day 2: Next day, travel to Phillip Island to visit the Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park for a hands-on wildlife experience. Learn about the park's conservation efforts, hand-feed a kangaroo, see wallabies and wombats, or have the opportunity to get a photo taken with a koala (*Fee Applies). Enjoy lunch near a billabong teeming with native water birds, and then head to the Churchill Island Heritage Farm to see sheep shearing and working dogs in action at the historic farm. Visit the nearby Koala Conservation Centre to glimpse these cuddly, eucalyptus-loving marsupials. Finally, arrive on Phillip Island, catching views of the Nobbies and Seal Rocks before finding a seat on the boardwalk at Summerland Beach. Every night at sunset, hundreds of little penguins swim in from a day of fishing and scurry across the shore to snuggle into their burrows.
