The Yale Y3 standard security nightlatch has been developed to offer customers a stylish contemporary lock combined with the performance and quality expected from Yale. It has a modern design and can be fitted as a replacement for the P77 traditional nightlatches with no additional chiselling required. The latch can be deadlocked by the snib button internally and the snib function enables the latch to be held back. This nightlatch is suitable for both left and right handed, inward opening doors and is supplied with the Yale 1109 cylinder and 2 Keys supplied (Key blank: B-KEY-1109) The Y3 nightlatches have a 60mm backset, this is the measurement from the edge of the door to the centre of the keyhole. Locks with a 40mm backset are normally used where there is restricted space, such as on a narrow glass panelled door. Place the spindle bar through an existing tubular latch or lock and position one handle over the spindle bar. Ensuring the handle is square, mark the screw hole positions with a bradawl.2. Drill Ø2mm pilot holes and reposition the handle before securing using the wood screws provided.3. If fitting Bathroom handles, now insert the bathroom spindle bar through the deadbolt hole of the lock from the outside of the door and place the thumbturn onto the spindle bar.
