Angetrieben wird unser Kompressor durch einen starken Elektromotor. Das mitgelieferte Relais muss zwingend gewechselt werden, da Relaisdefekte oft eine Schadenursache für Kompressoren darstellen. Ansonsten sind diese kaum fehleranfällig, solange sie in einem „gesunden“, dichten Luftfahrwerk eingesetzt sind. Fehlererkennung leicht gemacht Sollte bei Ihrem Fahrzeug eine Luftfeder undicht sein, steht es schief. Der Kompressor läuft lange um ausreichend Druckluft in das Luftfahrwerk zu pumpen, schließlich überhitzt er oder wird im Inneren nass, oft auch zuletzt mit lauten Poltergeräuschen. Das Fahrzeug senkt sich über Nacht auf der Hinterachse ab, wenn die Niveauregulierung defekt ist. Ist der Kompressor defekt, kann das Fahrzeugniveau nicht gehalten werden. Es steht dann nicht mehr in der Waage. Die Niveauregulierung pumpt nicht hoch und der Kompressor für die Niveauregulierung muss ausgetauscht werden.
