The Entertainment The music is drawn from the Medieval and Renaissance courts of Europe and covers the periods of the 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. Our musicians are at the forefront of a reemergence of Medieval English and European musical culture. The music is robust, engaging and emotive, bringing to life 800 year old musical manuscripts that have long been the domain of specialists and enthusiasts. Medieval Banquet Heritage All this takes place with the history of 1000 years beneath your feet! Our production pays homage to this history and notably to the Knights of Portsoken, a group of 13 knights in the retinue of 10th century English King, Edgar the Peaceful. The king gifted to them this very land upon which the banquet sits in recognition of performing three acts of bravery, one above ground, one below ground and one in the water, or so the legend goes. Each evening during the banquet our knights assemble to preserve the history of this ancient rite with an elaborate display of swordfighting There are many opportunities to dance with the cast, sing, bang your fists on the table and cry for your wench to bring you more food or drink! We also have a range of medieval costumes for hire to help you really look the part. Shakespeare's Globe Exhibition is the world's largest exhibition devoted to Shakespeare and the London in which he lived and worked. Housed beneath the reconstructed Globe Theatre on London's Bankside, the exhibition explores the remarkable story of the Globe, and brings Shakespeare's world to life using a range of interactive displays and live demonstrations. Visitors to the exhibition can discover how shows were produced in the theatres of Shakespeare's time, from writing and rehearsals to music, dance and performance. There are opportunities to learn about the traditional crafts and techniques used during the process of rebuilding the Globe; to find out how special effects were produced in Shakespeare's time, to listen to recordings from some of the most memorable Shakespearean performances ever, or join the cast and add your own voice to a scene recorded by Globe actors; to create your own Shakespearean phrases in the word jungle; to watch a sword-fighting display and browse the costume collection, where you can learn about the extraordinary methods used in creating clothes 400 years ago. A visit to the Exhibition includes a guided tour of the theatre where expert guide-storytellers provide fascinating half hour tours of the auditorium, taking visitors on a journey through time back to Elizabethan London as well as the reconstruction process of the 1980's-90's and how the wooden 'o' works today as an imaginative and experimental theatrical space. An exhibition visit and theatre tour lasts about one and a half hours. NB: There is no access to the theatre during matinee performances. Visitors will be taken to the nearby archaeological site of the Rose Theatre, Bankside's first playhouse.

The comedians hail from some of the best comedy markets in the country, including Chicago, New York City, Boston, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. The comics have performed on HBO, Showtime and Comedy Central specials. We'll leave the hotel at around 09:30 and head for the fascinating Tzotzil Maya settlement of San Juan Chamula, famous for its unique religious practices blending Catholic and Maya beliefs. During our tour, we'll learn about the culture and traditions of this remarkable community. We visit first their atmospheric cemetery with its Maya crosses spread out across a hill. And from there we'll wander through the village to the main church of the community. Our next stop, San Lorenzo Zinacatan, is another Tzotzil-speaking community. This is one of the most colourful communities in the highlands, and this can be seen in the brilliant red, blue and purple clothing embroidered with large flowers worn by the local people. We'll visit the main church of the community and we'll also meet local people with the chance to buy some of their beautiful work. hen on the way back we we will go on a guided tour of the beautiful colonial city of San Cristobal de las Casas before arriving back at our hotel at around 14:30.
