Start your day trip to the East Algarve with a hotel pickup, and then travel by air-conditioned coach to the pretty town of Almancil, roughly 8 miles (13km) northwest of Faro. Head inside the town’s crowning glory, the beautiful Church of St Lourenço (Igreja de São Lourenço de Matos), and marvel at its stunning blue-and-white wall tiles while exploring. The tiles depict the story of St Lourenço who used money from the Catholic Church to pay for the poor until he was caught by the Romans.
Continue to Faro, the Algarve’s capital, for a walking tour of its elegant Old Town. Amble around the charming cobblestone streets and see the Arc da Vila, a monument that was commissioned to mark the entrance to the Old Town after a devastating earthquake in 1755. After exploring the streets, enjoy some free time to sightsee independently or shop for souvenirs to take home.
Meet back up with your guide and travel to the nearby town of Olhão with its bustling fishing port and Moorish-esque neighborhoods and cube-shaped houses. Stretch your legs on a walk around with your guide, and then take a break for lunch at your own expense; your guide will have plenty of restaurant recommendations if you need them.
Your last stop of the day is the beautiful city of Tavira, a town often called the 'Venice of the Algarve' after its location that straddles the River Gilão. Steeped in history, Tavira is home to Roman bridges, Renaissance churches and historical monuments aplenty, but it’s Tavira Castle — a structure thought to date to Neolithic days — that is the town’s most intriguing sight. Pay your entrance fee and then head inside the site to explore the castle's ramparts and ruins.
Leave Tavira in the late afternoon and travel back to your Algarve hotel where your day trip finishes.
Highlights
York
Situated in the Avon Valley, York is one of Western Australia’s most picturesque towns with charming architecture. This town was the first inland European settlement in Western Australia, founded back in 1831. Be sure to take a short stroll along the main town strip and see many of the old buildings which are still in use today.
Dog Cemetery
Here you will find owners loving memories of their faithful four legged companions. Stroll through the cemetery and see the elaborate headstones and touching messages.
Hippos Yawn
Another rocky outcrop in the area, named because of its resemblance to a hippopotamus yawning.
The Humps
View the Aboriginal artwork at ‘The Humps,’ a large granite formation.
Mulka’s Cave
Hear the Aboriginal legend of Mulka and view the imprints of his hands which can still be seen in the cave today.
Wave Rock
East of Perth you will find Wave Rock, a giant surf like landmark of multi-coloured granite which is over 2700 million year old. This natural monument is so iconic as it appears to crash into the ground below – creating a wave like landscape.
Wildlife Park and Antique Lace Collection
If time permits wander through the wildlife park where you can enjoy time seeing kangaroos, emus, wallabies, wombats, koalas, lizards and a wide range of birds. Alternatively view the antique lace collection, dating back to the 1600’s. These hand and machine made lace products are housed in beautiful hand crafted cabinets.
Wildflowers (Seasonal)
Stop to view wildflowers throughout the tour whilst they are in season. Varieties include the orange flowering Christmas Tree, Kangaroo Paw, Banksia, Wattle and Everlastings.
Dolphin Lagoon ™

Kinder müssen mindestens 6 Jahre alt sein, um mit Delfinen zu schwimmen. Kinder im Alter von 6-12 Jahren müssen von einem zahlenden Erwachsenen begleitet werden, der ebenfalls am Delfinschwimmen teilnimmt
Das Grand Reef®
Ein Hektar großes Areal mit rund 10.000 Meerestieren - darunter 125 verschiedene Arten von Fischen wie Rochen, Muränen und Haien. Die Gäste können dort am weißen Sandstrand liegen, im flachen Wasser waten, im tieferen Wasser schwimmen oder inmitten der tropischen Fische schnorcheln.
Explorer's Voliere
Das rund 76 Meter lange und bis zu elf Meter hohe Vogelhaus stellt einen natürlichen Lebensraum für etwa 30 Arten tropischer Vögel dar. In drei Bereichen können Sie die Vögel sogar füttern und berühren!
Wind-Away-Fluss
Das Gewässer schlängelt sich durch fast den ganzen Park, vorbei an Stränden, baumgesäumten Wegen und Lagunen. Wer durch den Fluss schwimmt, trifft auf verschiedene Landschaften: den Strand einer sonnigen Insel, dichten tropischen Regenwald, einen Fluss, der an den Amazonas erinnert, ein tropisches Fischerdorf und eine Unterwasserhöhle. Wer durch den Wasserfall taucht, kommt in ein riesiges Vogelhaus, das etwa 300 farbenprächtige Tiere aus aller Welt beherbergt.
Ruhe-Bucht
Schneeweiße Strände gesäumt von Palmen, tropischer Vegetation und strohbedeckten Hütten. Jeder Gast findet sein privates Plätzchen auf dem weißen Sand, unter einem Schatten spendenden Sonnenschirm, in einer Hängematte oder auf einem Liegestuhl.
