Terms and Conditions: Please allow 15 to 20 minutes for your encounter with one of the beautiful seals. Participants must be at least 4 years of age. Participants under 18 years of age must have their legal guardian or parent with them to sign forms.  This experience is not available for anyone who is pregnant. Please note:  If your have allergies to sea food, you will not be able to participate. During the seal encounter, a photographer will be present to capture your experience. One image is included in the price of your ticket. The image is of the participant touching the seal and cannot be changed for alternatives.  Additional images can be purchased for a fee.

Ticket Includes: 25 min Sea Lion Experience Wetsuit and life jacket Ticket Excludes: Entry Ticket (This must be purchased separately)  Food and beverages Ticket Terms: Children of 7-11 years old must be accompanied by an adult during the interaction. Children under 7 years old, people over 120 kg weight and pregnants cannot participate in the interaction. It is imperative that you can swim. You will become the special guest of our sea lions for 25 minutes; a period of time in which you will be able to feel their fur and breath, touch them and feel them in the water and on land. Not even the best hosts will make you feel at home like they do. When you arrive, we shall have a wetsuit and life jacket ready for you which you shall use once you have gone through a decontamination process to prevent the access of germs to our family’s habitat. They’re dying to meet you! The activity begins with a short chat where the team will teach you how to stroke and greet our stars, which will welcome you with open arms. Don’t be afraid if you get the biggest kiss of your life; it will be quite an experience!

Dive into Oceans, from coastal kelp forests to the seafloor. Explore the self-contained ecosystems of Islands and Lakes. Visit Rivers—big and small—and learn more about our local waters in the new At Home on the Great Lakes exhibit. Meet hundreds of amazing animals, from tiny mantella frogsto a a giant octopus, from a Grand Cayman blue iguana to Nile knifefish, and from moon jellies to sea stars. We even have map turtles, in case you get lost. Caribbean Reef Take a 360-degree tour of an underwater reef community. Follow a green sea turtle. Peek at a moray eel in a rocky crevice. Watch regal rays glide by. Get eye-to-eye with parrot fish and sharks. Visit Caribbean Reef, Shedd’s award-winning 90,000-gallon circular habitat in the grand rotunda. Abbott Oceanarium The Abbott Oceanarium immerses you in the vibrant coastal ecosystem of beluga whales, Pacific white-sided dolphins, sea otters and sea lions. Use our self-guided map to discover how animals are linked to each other, their homes and you. Polar Play Zone Kids have a place at Shedd that they can call their own—Polar Play Zone. It’s cool as ice and twice as nice! The penguins think so, too. Play! Splash! Pretend! What would you like to be? A sleek sliding penguin? A deep-sea explorer? How about both? In Polar Play Zone, you can slip into a penguin suit and try being a bird in the Icy South play area. From there, head to the Icy North to explore the belugas’ Arctic waters in a kid-sized submarine. Don’t forget to shake hands—or is it arms?—with colorful sea stars in the touch pools.
