Newseum Blends High-Tech With Historical The Newseum — a 250,000-square-foot museum of news — offers visitors an experience that blends five centuries of news history with up-to-the-second technology and hands-on exhibits. The Newseum is located at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Sixth Street, N.W., Washington, D.C., on America’s Main Street between the White House and the U.S. Capitol and adjacent to the Smithsonian museums on the National Mall. The exterior’s unique architectural features include a 74-foot-high marble engraving of the First Amendment and an immense front wall of glass through which passers-by can watch the museum fulfil its mission of educating the public about the value of a free press in a free society and telling the stories of the world's important events in unique and engaging ways. Departing Edinburgh, you travel north-west for your first stop of the day at magnificent Stirling Castle*, one of Scotland’s most historically significant castles, sitting high on volcanic rock and offering wonderful views of the surrounding landscape. You will have time to visit the castle and learn of the exploits of key historic figures including William Wallace, Robert the Bruce and Mary Queen of Scots. With lots of interesting things to see and do here, the Stirling Castle experience is a must for any visitor to Scotland.  You then continue on, past medieval Doune Castle, to the pretty town of Callander, situated on the banks of the River Teith in Stirlingshire, where you will have a chance to stop to enjoy some lunch. From here we enter The Trossachs National Park, also known as “The Highlands in miniature” for its abundance of lochs, mountains and forests, and famous as the homeland of legendary outlaw, Rob Roy MacGregor.  You will then reach the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, one of the prettiest and largest lochs in the whole of Scotland. Here you can enjoy an hour long cruise* taking in spectacular views of the loch’s many islands and the surrounding mountains. Alternatively, take a stroll through the picturesque loch-side conservation village of Luss, with its quaint houses, cafes and stunning views across the loch’s western shoreline. During the dinner you will be served by the pirates themselves while Captain Hook tells you about his adventures on the Spanish Main. But be careful, while you are eating, another ship is silently approaching in the darkness, preparing to board the galleon. No need to be afraid, Captain Hook discovers the enemy’s ruse and orders his men to take up battle stations, the cannon are ready to fire. Pirates armed to the teeth with cutlasses and pistols jump from the rigging down to the decks where a sword fight ensues between the crew and the enemy pirates with amazing sound and light effects.  And all this excitement you’re bound to be feeling hungry so it’s time to sit down at Captain Hook’ s table for a banquet where you can feast on delicious meat and lobster as well as a buffet of salads, steamed vegetables, pirate rice, baked potatoes, grilled chicken and dessert. The Liverpool Beatles Walking Tour  This easy walking tour is perfect for both first time visitors and for Beatles fans. With it's starting point less than a 5-minute walk from Liverpool cruise terminal, it is also an ideal shore excursion.  The tours are led by a fun, local guide and once bookings have reached a certain size, an extra guide will be used. You will never be in a huge group, making your tour a very personal experience with lots of time to ask questions and take photographs.   The Beatles Story Museum Languages Living History Audio Guide at Beatles Story Albert Dock has been compiled and is narrated by John Lennon's sister Julia and is complimentary. Ten languages: Brazilian Portuguese (new), English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin (new) Polish, Russian and Spanish. We also have a family audio guide in English.   Accessibility Parking – Albert Dock has a number of car parks on site and has in total eight accessible car parking bays, with three available in car park A, near to the estate’s main entrance and five in car park B opposite The Beatles Story and Premier Inn hotel. Wheelchairs – The exhibition is fully wheelchair accessible. Due to fire evacuation procedures, we can only admit three wheelchairs on site at any one time. We have a standard wheelchair available which can either be booked in advance by telephoning +44 (0) 151 709 1963 or borrowed on the day by asking a member of staff at the main entrance (subject to availability on the day). Lifts – We have two accessible lifts: One situated at our main entrance (accompanied with audio announcements) and one located in our Fab4 Store going down to the Fab4 Cafe. Induction Loops – Induction loops are available to use with our audio guides. Please see a member of staff when picking up your audio guide. Large Print Gallery Books – We have large print transcripts available in all 10 languages offered on our audio guide, which are available at our Admissions desk.
