Durante la temporada alta (abril-octubre) sale cada 20 minutos. Las entradas individuales cuestan 5 € para adultos y 2,50 € para niños. A pie: tendrá que caminar por los famosos 600 escalones de la carretera tradicional que conecta el puerto viejo con la ciudad de Fira. El descenso demora entre 20 y 30 minutos, dependiendo de su condición física. En burro: los burros solían ser el medio de transporte tradicional de la isla. Suben y bajan con frecuencia al antiguo puerto de Fira. Un solo viaje cuesta alrededor de 5 € por persona y dura unos 20 minutos. La mayoría de la gente prefiere subir al burro.

Itinerary Depart Edinburgh at 08:15 and travel west, past Stirling castle to your first stop at Doune Castle. This area of Scotland has certainly seen its fair share of fighting and warfare. Stirling castle was once known as the 'Key to Scotland', and it was here that William Wallace (immortalised by Mel Gibson in the film Braveheart) defeated the English army in 1297. After William Wallace's death it was Robert the Bruce who continued the fight for independence and you will pass the site of his most famous victory in 1314 at the Battle of Bannockburn. Then you arrive at the fantastic medieval stronghold of Doune castle. Built for Robert Stewart, the Duke of Albany, over 600 years ago the castle is still in great condition and you will have time for photos. You might even have seen the castle before, it was made famous by the film 'Monty Python and The Holy Grail', with many scenes filmed here. You then continue a little further on to Callander. After a short coffee stop you cross the Highland boundary fault line leaving the rolling farms for the wild mountains and forests of the Highlands. You will make a short stop at Loch Luibnaig before you continue over the Braes of Balquhidder, the final resting place of Highland outlaw Rob Roy MacGregor. Made famous by Sir Walter Scott, Rob Roy was a sort of Highland Robin Hood, he stole from the rich, but never quite got round to giving it to the poor! From Balquhidder the tour winds its way through the tough knot of mountains known as Breadalbane (meaning the 'high country of Scotland') before we stop for lunch in a small West Highland village. Shortly after lunch you stop for the short walk out to visit Kilchurn Castle, a magnificent ruin situated in the middle of Loch Awe and former home of the Campbells of Breadalbane. You will continue along the banks of Loch Awe through Campbell country to the picturesque town of Inveraray on the shores of Loch Fyne. Here you can visit the 18th-century castle and home of the Duke of Argyll, chief of the Campbell clan. (castle open Easter to mid-October). The town was built at the same time as the castle and has the air of a classic 18th-century planned village with its straight wide streets and dignified Georgian houses. You can take time to explore the town and maybe call at the Old Jail or the maritime museum, the Arctic Penguin. Leaving Inveraray, you take a drive up through the steep-sided mountains known as the Arrochar Alps to the great viewpoint at 'Rest and Be Thankful'. It was given its name in 1753 by the weary soldiers who had just finished building the old military road up through Glen Croe. From here you skirt around Loch Long and down to the Bonnie, Bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. This is Scotland's largest loch and it takes its name from the mountain Ben Lomond on the eastern shore. You make a short stop at the conservation village of Luss, with its quaint houses and stunning views across the loch. At 17.30 you make your way back to Edinburgh, with a short photo stop underneath Stirling Castle. Return time: 18:30 approx

When you reach Mountain Station, disembark to explore the facilities, which include observation decks, a cocktail lounge and dining facilities. Pause to watch a short film on the construction of the Tramway, then head out into the 14,000-acre (5,665-hectare) Mt San Jacinto State Park and Wilderness Area. Make use of the 54 miles (87 km) of hiking trails on foot in the summer or by snowshoe or cross-country skis in the winter. At the top Peaks Restaurant is a culinary experience above the clouds. Spectacular views combined with delectable food provide the perfect dining experience. There are two dining options at the top of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Peaks, a fine dining experience with a breathtaking view of the Coachella Valley and Pines Café, a cafeteria-style restaurant. Both restaurants are open for lunch and dinner. If you are looking for something more casual, you will like Pines Café or The Lookout Lounge. Pines Café is a cafeteria-style restaurant and is open daily from 11:00 to 20:30. The Lookout Lounge if a full cocktail bar offering a variety of alcoholic beverages and appetizers, and is located on the same level as the restaurants. Also at the top there are observation decks, a small natural history museum, two theaters showing State Park and tram construction videos, a gift shop, Magic Memories for photo viewing, and over 50 miles of hiking trails along with other nature activities. Hiking Mt. San Jacinto State Park offers 54 miles of hiking trails located within a 14,000 acre pristine wilderness, one of the last in California. All trails are accessed by exiting the Tram's Mountain Station and descending a concrete pathway approximately .3 miles to Long Valley. In Long Valley there are picnic tables, water, Ranger Station, flush toilets and some easy trails. Winter Adventure Center The Adventure Center has available cross-country ski and snowshoe equipment for rent. The Center is seasonal, please check season dates. Guided Nature Walks Our guided nature walks which are available in the summer months are a wonderful way to learn about the natural environment at the Top of the Tram. There is no charge for this one-of-a kind experience. Cross-Country Skiing Cross-country ski enthusiasts have found the State Park to be unsurpassed in its challenging terrain. You can bring your own equipment or you can rent skis, boots and poles at the Adventure Center. Family Snow Fun People of all ages can enjoy fun in the snow, and only a few inches of snow are necessary. Sleds and cold weather apparel are available for purchase in the Mountain Gift shop. SnowShoeing For those wanting to take a walk during the winter into the back country, snowshoe rentals are available. Wilderness permits are required for anyone venturing outside of Long Valley, and may be obtained from the Ranger Station in Long Valley.
