Things to do and See at the Tower of London: Line of Kings Exhibition For over 300 years visitors to the Tower of London have marvelled at displays featuring arms and royal armour, life-sized wooden horses and figures of kings. The White Tower The White Tower is one of the most famous castle keeps in the world. It was built, to awe, subdue and terrify Londoners and to deter foreign invaders. It’s an iconic symbol of London and Britain. The Crown Jewels The Jewel house at the Tower of London houses the world famous Crown Jewels. 23,578 precious stones and gems make up the Crown Jewels and include the world’s most famous diamond ‘ The Great Star of Africa’. The Yeoman Warder tours The Yeoman Warders, also known as beefeaters, are the public face of the Tower of London. As well as guarding the Tower and Crown Jewels they also provide tours for visitor where they regale you with tales from the Tower. The Royal Beasts The last thing you’d expect to see at the Tower of London would be Lions, Tigers, Elephants and Polar Bears, but for over 600 years the Royal Menagerie played host to these and many more. Discover their extraordinary stories and what life was like for them at the tower. The Ravens ‘The kingdom and the Tower will fall if the six ravens ever leave the Tower of London’, well according to legend anyway. Whether this is true or not the ravens have become on of the Tower’s most famous sites, just make sure you see at least 6 when you visit! The Tower Green Believe it or not being executed inside the Tower of London was considered a privilege for those of high rank. The Tower Green contains a permanent memorial for those ‘lucky’ enough to be executed there. The Medieval Palace Being the oldest part of the Tower of London, the Medieval Palace contains amazing interiors that you won’t see anywhere else. here you can experience what life might have been like in a luxurious medieval household. Coins and kings; the Royal Mint at the Tower An exhibit devoted to telling the history of the Mint located at the Tower for over 500 years. Learn of Isaac Newton's efforts to rid London of counterfeiters when he was Warden of the Mint, Edward I's harsh punishments for people who tampered with his coins, Elizabeth I's restoration of the coinage following her father Henry VIII’s disastrous meddling, and Charles II's rejection of Commonwealth money.

It’s cool as ice and twice as nice! The penguins think so, too. Play! Splash! Pretend! What would you like to be? A sleek sliding penguin? A deep-sea explorer? How about both? In Polar Play Zone, you can slip into a penguin suit and try being a bird in the Icy South play area. From there, head to the Icy North to explore the belugas’ Arctic waters in a kid-sized submarine. Don’t forget to shake hands—or is it arms?—with colorful sea stars in the touch pools. In Polar Play Zone, you’ll learn about polar opposites—big and small, fast and slow, shallow and deep, even north and south—while you play. Visit the Whitney Museum On May 1, 2015, the Whitney Museum of American Art flicked on the lights and opened its doors at its new home in the Meatpacking District, sandwiched between the Hudson River and High Line Park. It’s been a huge hit ever since. The 220,000-square-foot (20,000-square-meter) space, designed by renowned Italian architect Renzo Piano, is a work of art in and of itself. The nine-floor museum consists of exhibition spaces, an education center, a reading room, a theater and a conservation lab. After checking out the impressive contemporary works (more than 21,000 paintings, sculptures, photos, drawings, videos and new media created by more than 3,000 artists in the United States during the 20th and 21st centuries), be sure to head to the top-floor cafe for outstanding views of the Manhattan skyline. Or dine at Untitled, the outstanding in-house restaurant from acclaimed chef Michael Anthony. The permanent collection consists of works by American artists like Louise Bourgeois, Man Ray, Jasper Johns and Andy Warhol. See such pieces as Study for Nighthawks by Edward Hopper, Four Darks in Red by Mark Rothko and Number 27, 1950 by Jackson Pollock. The museum also houses several temporary exhibitions at any given time, from photographs to performances, by artists both old and up-and-coming. It's a great way to discover new artists on their way to becoming the next American masters. ENTRANCE The accessible path to the Whitney’s main entrance at 99 Gansevoort Street runs from Washington Street along the south side of the building, past the Museum's restaurant on the ground floor. Scarborough SEA LIFE & Marine Sanctuary invites you this year to explore the magical re-creation of the most amazing natural wonder in the world, the awe-inspiring Great Barrier Reef. Discover an array of tropical sharks, beautiful rays and colourful coral beneath the ocean surface. Turtle Sanctuary: Visit our brand new refuge for endangered freshwater turtles, the latest in a Europe-wide network of breeding facilities for these strange and exotic animals… many of which have been pushed to the brink of extinction. Our seal hospital is busy all year round caring for sick and injured seal pups until, whenever possible, they are well enough to be returned to the wild. Other highlights include an incredible otter sanctuary, penguin sanctuary and a whole host of other incredible marine creatures. Informative talks and feeding presentations throughout the day make this a memorable day out for the whole family. Restaurant: Indoor: Relax in our café where a selection of hot and cold food is available. We also offer a kids meal with a free gift. Hot food is served from 11 am until 4pm (3pm in winter) Outdoor: From Easter to the end of October you can relax at the outdoor themed seating area and take in the superb views over the North bay. There is a wide range of hot and cold drinks, ice creams and snacks to choose from. Let the children pan for gold while you enjoy your cappuccino. Each child receives a medal for their efforts.
