Spot the sun breakthrough on the horizon as the city kicks into gear. 5 Things you need to know before your climb Health & Safety Your health and safety is important: If you are pregnant or have any pre-existing health conditions you may need to provide a doctor’s Certificate of Fitness note before you climb. You must have a blood-alcohol reading below 0.05 to climb (the same as if you are driving). You will be asked to complete a BridgeClimb Declaration Form before your Climb. Please be honest about your health so we can ensure your wellbeing is not at risk. All discussions will be confidential.  Preparations How should you prepare for your Climb: Ensure that you have eaten before your Climb and you’re well-hydrated – the experience can last up to 3 ½ hours. Wear comfortable, enclosed rubber-soled shoes such as running, sport or hiking shoes and don’t forget your sunglasses. It is recommend to wear comfortable clothing. You will be equipped with everything else you need for your Climb! Ensure you arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled Climb time to allow enough time to check in. Personal Belongings All your personal belongings can be stored in lockers, including cameras: there are FREE secure lockers for you to keep your personal belongings in, including phones, cameras and GoPros. The Climb Leaders will capture photos of you during your Climb. For safety and security reasons, cameras, video technology and mobile devices are prohibited on the Climb. Restrictions You must be 8 years old and 1.2 metres in height, or taller: Children aged 8 to 15 must be accompanied by and are the responsibility of an adult, with a maximum of three children per adult.  Weather Conditions Climbs operate in all weather conditions: You will equipped with all the gear you need to keep you dry, but remember to bring your own shoes, which should be enclosed, like running shoes. In case of extreme weather conditions like electrical storms or during times of extremely high wind, Climbs may be postponed. 

There are keeper talks and feeding times so you can learn more about the animals, get a closer look and your questions answered. You can also feed the friendly Kangaroos and pose for photos with them in the Kangaroo exhibit.

London Zoo With over 760 different species to discover, a visit to ZSL London Zoo is the perfect day out for people of all ages. And make sure you don't miss our amazing new exhibit Penguin Beach - England's biggest penguin pool! Animal Adventure We have just launched Animal Adventure, our new Children's Zoo. This exhibit provides thousands upon thousands of children with the chance to immerse themselves in the sights, sounds, smells and experiences of life in the animal kingdom. Penguin Beach The exhibit’s 1200 sq metre pool is four times bigger and three times deeper than the Zoo’s old penguin pool and will hold 450,000 litres of water. Our large demonstration area turns feeding time in to an even bigger spectacle than before. Penguin Beach Live will feature twice daily feeds where visitors can watch the birds diving for their food. Penguin Beach will be a breeding facility for colonies of Humboldt, macaroni, black-footed and rockhopper penguins and will include a special penguin nursery. This will include a chick incubation unit and a pool where the youngsters can learn how to swim. Butterfly Paradise ZSL London Zoo’s Butterfly Paradise exhibit features species from several major regions including Africa, South-east Asia and Central and South America. Meet the Monkeys Two years ago, we launched our Meet the Monkeys walkthrough. The enclosure was built to house a breeding group of black-capped squirrel monkeys in a habitat designed to recreate the Bolivian rainforests as closely as possible in the centre of London Aquarium The Aquarium has been at ZSL London Zoo since 1853, and has a very interesting history. Separated into three different halls, which are home to different types of fish, the Aquarium is involved in many different conservation projects and breeding programmes Blackburn Pavilion Take flight to our new tropical bird walk-through the Blackburn Pavilion, and be transported to a jungle paradise in the centre of London! Clore Rainforest Lookout New at ZSL London Zoo. Feel the heat of South America within our tropical biome filled with tropical trees and alive with South American monkeys, birds and invertebrates. With nothing separating you from this amazing habitat. Gorilla Kingdom This pioneering £5.3 million exhibit brings Central Africa to the heart of London. It gives visitors the chance to experience the amazing world of these animals in a natural setting with no bars. Interactive features and educational activities will appeal to visitors from all walks of life. Gorilla Kingdom highlights the threats faced by these majestic creatures in the wild. ZSL works to conserve and protect them, and this exhibit marks an important development in awareness and support for their plight.

What is an Overseas Visitor Pass? The Overseas Visitor Pass is a one-price entrance ticket to all English Heritage properties valid for either 9 or 16 consecutive days. What is included? FREE entry to over 100 stately homes, castles, abbeys, Roman and prehistoric remains. You can visit all attractions directly managed by English Heritage free of charge. Find out more about our historic attractions. FREE or reduced price entry to hundreds of action-packed events. FREE overseas visitor guidebook. I can’t possibly visit 100 attractions in 9 days. Why should I buy an Overseas Visitor Pass? We don’t expect you to visit that many attractions. The Overseas Visitor Pass is incredible value for money and you can start making savings from as few as two or three visits! How much will I save? You will realise what great value the pass is as soon as you make your first visit. For example, the price of the guidebook plus the combined normal adult admission price to Dover Castle; 1066 Battle of Hastings, Abbey and Battlefield; Walmer Castle & Gardens; and the Home of Charles Darwin, Down House - just four attractions in the South East - is £54.65. The Pass is available for overseas visitors only. Visitors may be asked for proof of overseas residency when visiting a property. The Pass is available to groups and individuals. Groups should contact the first property they are planning to visit with a list of names of the group's members, so that we can prepare the passcards and make sure we have enough guidebooks on site. Do children need their own Pass? The family pass is valid for two adults and up to four other family members under the age of 19 living at the same address. Other than the family pass, there is no reduced child pass. Children under the age of five are admitted free of charge to our attractions, and children up to the age of 15 qualify for reduced entrance fees. For how long is the Overseas Visitor Pass valid? The English Heritage Overseas Visitor Pass is valid for a period of either 9 or 16 consecutive days.  How is my Overseas Visitor Pass activated? The Pass will be validated at the first property you visit and it can then be used for the following consecutive 9 or 16 days. When are English Heritage properties open? Many properties open daily from 10.00 in summer. Nearly all are closed 24-26 December and 1 January. All sites have reduced opening times during the winter months (October to March). The exact opening times are listed on our website as well as in the Members’ and Visitors’ Handbook, which is included free of charge with the Pass. What documents do I need to take with me to collect the Overseas Visitor Pass? You need to print out your booking confirmation (voucher), and take this with the credit card used to make the booking. You must also have proof of identity with you in the form of a passport, identity card or driver’s license to authenticate that you are the rightful owner of the voucher and as proof of overseas residency. This can be a photocopy. What happens if my Pass is lost or stolen? The Pass is not transferable, refundable or replaceable when lost or stolen.
