From your starting point by Edinburgh Castle, you head out of the city to the charming village of Roslin, making your first stop at one of Scotland’s most extraordinary buildings - Rosslyn Chapel*. The Chapel’s worldwide fame increased thanks to Dan Brown’s bestselling novel ‘The Da Vinci Code’. Described as the “Library in Stone”, the inside walls of Rosslyn Chapel are adorned with thousands of ancient carvings, each with a story of its own. You can also learn of the myths and legends surrounding the chapel, including tales of the Knights Templar.  Leaving Rosslyn you will continue into the heart of the Scottish Borders, an area rich in hills, valleys, rivers and moorland, as well as being the traditional home to Scottish rugby. Next travel to the historic town of Melrose, birthplace of the game of Rugby Sevens and location of Melrose Abbey, founded in 660 AD, and said to be the burial place of the casket containing the heart of Robert the Bruce. Here you stop for lunch and have free time to explore Melrose and its Abbey*.  On your return journey, you will travel via the village of St. Boswells and pause for a photo stop at Scott’s View, where you can enjoy glorious scenic views overlooking the valley of the River Tweed, reputed to be one of the favourite beauty spots of the famous Scottish author, Sir Walter Scott. The journey north takes you to Pencaitland, where you will visit the charming Glenkinchie Distillery*, one of the few Lowland whisky distilleries in Scotland.  Here you can enjoy “a tour and a taste”, learn more about “the water of life” and sample some of Glenkinchie’s finest malts. From Edinburgh you will travel north-west, passing Stirling Castle, before making your first stop at Kilmahog. Here there will be a break for some light refreshments and the chance to see some Highland cattle up close. Next you travel onwards through Rob Roy Country of Clans MacGregor and Campbell, then over the dramatic landscape of Rannoch Moor to Glencoe, one of Scotland’s most famous glens, site of the 1692 massacre of the Clan MacDonald. Here you can pause for a photo stop and to soak up the atmosphere in this haunting glen.  Continuing via Loch Linnhe, stopping in the Fort William area for lunch, then journey onwards, passing beneath Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, before we enter the natural beauty of the Great Glen. Travelling on, you can admire the Caledonian Canal and the pretty village of Fort Augustus, enjoying spectacular views of Loch Ness, as you drive along the shoreline to Urquhart Castle.  Loch Ness, 24 miles long and over 700 feet deep, is most famous for sightings of the Loch Ness monster, affectionately known as “Nessie”. You will spend 2 hours at Loch Ness, where you can choose to explore the ruins of Urquhart Castle*, learn of its history inside the modern visitor centre, and take an Award Winning Jacobite cruise* across the loch.  Passing through Inverness, Capital of the Highlands, you start your return for home, crossing the Grampian Mountains and the woodland scenery of Perthshire, including the Forest of Atholl, before enjoying an evening refreshment stop at the Victorian resort town of Pitlochry, en route back to Edinburgh. *OPTIONAL EXTRA. LANGUAGES: English and Spanish The route begins at 09:00 am from the center of Bilbao to go directly on the A8 motorway towards the inside of Guipúzcoa, through Eibar, Elgoibar, Azkoitia and Loyola. In Loyola stop to visit the shrine of harmonious proportions, built between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, where we visit the spectacular Basilica and see the house where he was born Ignacio tower. Azpeitia will continue to travel through, and out towards the coast by Zumaia, the embroidery to reach Getaria. We will have free time to visit this charming fishing village located on a mountain slope very fertile, with the Arch of Catrapona, a mediaeval passageway beneath the church with a chapel for sailors, the parish church of San Salvador (fifteenth century), which is a jewel of Gothic architecture, its fishing port, its narrow streets and its typical bars and restaurants. After traveling to Zarautz continue the traditional enclave and tourist reference since the nineteenth century. Later we arrived in San Sebastian. In this beautiful city will make a comprehensive scenic tour to appreciate all his walks, La Concha beach and climb Igueldo overlooking the bay. Then another walking tour through Casco Viejo. Free time for lunch. Our guide will inform of various possibilities of selected restaurants and menus for you to choose the one you draw. Direct return to Bilbao on the highway with magnificent views to get to your hotel mid-afternoon.

A chance to visit the mountains and see some remains of its Moorish and Roman existence. Silves (The old Moorish Capital) castle and cathedral. Climb the Monchique Mountains to Foia - the highest point of the Algarve. After lunch you will journey over to the beautiful town of Lagos - indoor slave market (the first in Europe), Saint Anthony’s golden church, fort and old town. Afterwards you continue on to Cape Saint Vincent, the most southwesterly point of Europe, known as “the End of the World”.
