The Blue Mountains tour will begin from the comforts of our modern guest lounge. Before taking off on your helicopter flight experience, you will be greeted and checked-in by our expert operations staff. Following this, a proper safety briefing will be conducted between the pilot and passengers inside the spacious lounge area. Once the safety briefing is complete, we will head out to the helicopter giving you the chance to use your own camera for some photos before boarding and flying. You can stand in front of the helicopter, or pose on the side – just have some fun and make use of this great photo opportunity! Cameras and video recorders are more than welcome to be taken aboard on the flight, as you can capture more fantastic memories as we fly over picturesque Sydney Harbour and beyond. Upon the take-off of the helicopter for the Blue Mountains tour, you can enjoy the best of Sydney with full panoramic views of the skyline, Pacific Ocean and the widely renowned port of Botany Bay. Further along, our pilot will have you flying above the glistening waters of Maroubra Beach and going north-wards along the coast at 500 feet. You will contour fly the picturesque coastline of the Eastern Suburbs beaches including Coogee, Clovelly and also the world famous Bondi Beach, the aquamarine waters sparkling against the Sydney sun. You won’t be able to stop admiring the spectacular houses in Ben Buckler and Vaucluse, where they are perched on chiselled sandstone cliffs as the flight continues northbound to Sydney Harbour Heads. Entering Sydney Harbour, you will fly past the Sydney Opera House on descent for the southern pylon of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, flanked by the skyscrapers of North Sydney on the right and the Circular Quay/Sydney CBD on the left you will track the Parramatta River at 500 feet before coming to the Parramatta CBD, the geographical centre of Sydney. Your pilot will set course to the West as you slowly start to climb in elevation, the Blue Mountains in all their glory are ahead to greet you and uncover some of their visual secrets that you can only ever appreciate from the air. You will see the famous Three Sisters and the unforgiving sandstone cliff faces that encompass the Jamison Valley. See the cascading Wentworth Falls as their crystal clear waters drop into the abyss before coming to a gentle end at the sandstone valley floor. The uniquely Australian eucalyptus forests stretch forever as you head South to Sydney’s water catchment area, the Warragamba Dam. It is truly amazing that you can go from Australia’s largest city to an area so remote that only seeing is believing. Returning via Sydney’s South Western suburbs and the Sydney Olympic Site this amazing flight is bound to exceed even the highest expectations. Your pilot will guide you throughout the flight, providing commentary with the use of the Bose voice-activated headsets. This modern piece of equipment also lets you talk with the pilots and with other passengers whilst on the helicopter!

At its zenith in the 1st millennium AD, this was one of the largest cities in the Americas with over 100,000 inhabitants. Accompanied by your local guide you'll explore the magnificent Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, the Avenue of the Dead and the Temples of Quetzacoatl and the Butterflies.  Then we'll move on to the Shrine of our Lady of Guadalupe, the most visited religious site in Latin America. The Shrine was built in 1531 after a local peasant saw a vision of a girl surrounded by light, asking that a church be built in her honour. She identified herself as the Virgin Mary and left an image of herself imprinted miraculously on his peasant cloak.  The shrine itself is a wonderful example of Spanish Baroque Art and is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Roman Catholics in the world.

Your next stop will be at the village of Prades and here you will have 1 hour 15 minutes to stroll around the village and take a break for lunch. You can bring your own packed lunch and have a picnic or you can buy a menu of 3 courses and a drink for just 12 euros, 2 euros less than the normal price. You will notice you are surrounded by the red colour of the sharp stones used to build the walls, the church and many of the houses. In the Plaza Mayor, you will see the Spherical renaissance fountain, where once a year it is filled with cava and the locals spend the day and night drinking from it. You can also see the Gothic Church of Santa Maria. Then onto another picturesque village, Siurana, where you will be taken back in time as you walk on the cobbled streets and pass the old stone houses. Here there is a small shop where you can but local produce, ice creams and postcards. There are spectacular views of the mountains and surrounding landscapes and you can look down to the lake of Siurana which will be your next stop. This really is one of the most beautiful villages you could hope to visit. Your last stop will be to the water for another dip or swim and a good chance to cool off. Then, after a great day out you will be taken back to your hotel and you will be given a present of a bottle of wine to take back with the rest of the lovely memories you will have.

Mission Moon -  WHAT YOU WILL DISCOVER Mission Moon invites you to experience America’s first steps into space through the eyes of NASA’s Captain James A. Lovell Jr. and his family. You’ll find out how the United States became the first nation to put a man on the Moon, what it’s really like to be an astronaut, and why it takes a team to explore uncharted worlds. Community Design Lab -  In the Community Design Lab (CDL), you can test different materials to find out which ones will survive the journey to 100,000 feet above the Earth’s surface. Your discoveries may find their way into a future flight with Far Horizons, the Adler’s high-altitude ballooning program! It was created using approximately 13,000 linear feet of aluminum tubing and 20,000 square yards of fabric. The gallery also has 125 LED lights, each capable of producing sixteen million different colors and over two billion different lighting combinations. Astronomy in Culture -  WHAT YOU WILL DISCOVER Go back in time and learn about some of the people and societies who have challenged themselves to understand our place in the Universe. This exhibition features spectacular astrolabes, armillary spheres, and sundials to illustrate the medieval European and Middle Eastern conception of the Universe. Visit our medieval classroom to find out how much different school was back then. Learn how to use early astronomy tools including astrolabes and sundials. Atwood Sphere -  WHAT YOU WILL DISCOVER Experience the night sky over Chicago as it appeared in 1913 in the Atwood Sphere – Chicago’s oldest planetarium. Although the star positions have not changed since then, we can see only a small percentage of these stars in our current night sky due to light pollution. The sphere is seventeen feet in diameter and has 692 holes drilled through its metal surface. These holes allow light to enter and show the positions of the brightest stars in the night sky. Take a live guided tour of the Atwood Sphere and identify stars and the constellations they form.
