ACTIVATING THE NEW YORK PASS The smart card records when and where you first use your Pass, as well as how long the Pass will remain valid. This means your Pass is activated the moment that you first use it at an attraction or service. Your New York Pass is then valid for the number of days that you've purchased - be it 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 or 10 days. It is important to note that a ‘day’ is based on a calendar day, not a 24 hour period. The old port in Fira is accessible only: By cable car: It is perfectly safe, it consists of 6 wagons and has capacity of 6 persons per wagon. During high season (April-October) it runs every 20 minutes. Single tickets cost €5 for adults and €2.50 for children. On foot: You would need to walk down the famous 600 steps of the traditional road that connects the old port with the town of Fira. The descend takes about 20-30 minutes, depending on your physical condition. By donkey: The donkeys used to be the traditional transportation way of the island. They go up and down to the old port of Fira frequently. A single ride costs around €5 per person and takes about 20 minutes. Most people prefer to take the donkey on their way up.

These playful and loving mammals will make your day very special. During the interaction you can stroke and hug them, and even receive a kiss. You will also learn to differentiate their principal characteristics and get to know their skills and behaviours.  The sea lion is an expert swimmer who uses his front flippers to propel themselves forward, making leaps of up to 1.5 metres and steer their body with their rear flippers. The training of these animals is based on “time”, “patience” and, above all things, “respect.” So we are aware of their moods and, like us, you must understand. Conditions:
Adults and children must be 7+ years old and 1.10+ metres high.
Each child from 7 to 14 years old must be accompained by an adult (18+), who also participates and pays for the interaction.
