Marvel at the world-renowned phenomenon of glowworms illuminating your way through the glowworm grotto in Waitomo and explore the caves formed over 30 million years ago - Watch as glowworms illuminate the glowworm grotto on your 45 minute boat tour of the Waitomo Caves - the Tour is led by an experienced guide who'll share the history and local Maori legends surrounding the cave - This is one of the must-see natural phenomenons in New Zealand, famed around the world.
The glowworm, Arachnocampa luminosa, is unique to New Zealand. Thousands of these tiny creatures radiate their unmistakable luminescent light as our expert guides provide informative commentary on the Caves' historical and geological significance.
