Whether it’s your first or 50th, there’s something about riding on an airboat through the Florida Everglades at Wild Florida that makes you want to shout, “Again!” Our U.S. Coast Guard approved airboats can skim across the shoreline while you look for wildlife, or disappear into endless beautiful swamps, marshes and rivers. Our experienced captains have a knack for being able to pick out alligators, eagles, and other wildlife that build their homes in the waterways near Wild Florida. Each time you head out onto the water, you’ll see and experience something different. For variety, you can choose from a half-hour, hour, private, or night-time adventure. We get asked a lot about bringing young children on our airboats. Children under 3 are free, and the steady vibrations and fresh air often puts them right to sleep! Safety is our top priority on our airboat rides. We provide life jackets and ear protection for each guest on our voyages out into the Florida Everglades.  We are committed to the health, safety, and well-being of our guests, staff, and animals. No job is so important and no service is so urgent that we cannot take time to perform our work safely to prevent accidents or  injuries to our guests and animals. Here are a few safety points and plans for our guests and animals. Airboat Operations Wild Florida has a great reputation when it comes to our airboat tours. We have never had an accident and plan to keep it that way. Our vessels are U.S. Coast Guard approved and inspected on an annual basis. On the vessels are life preservers for each guest, fire extinguishers, a flare gun, and a throw ring if necessary. In case of an emergency, we have an accident plan We have an incident report if needed Our loading dock is ADA Compliant There is always a way to communicate to home base and/or 911 anywhere on site or while out on an airboat tour   Gator and Wildlife Park Safety In case of a snake bite, we have a snake bite protocol. Our animals are checked regularly by a veterinarian. We have a veterinarian on call at all times. We have an accident plan for emergencies. In our Gator and Wildlife Park, we have over 200 animals on display, including zebras, sloths, lemurs, bobcats, and other exotic species. We have a walk-in bird aviary with ducks, parrots and other birds from all over the world. Our animal keepers are very knowledgeable about the habits and history of the animals in our Gator and Wildlife Park. You can even fulfill your lifelong dream by working as an animal keeper for a day. It’s only one of the many interactive programs we have with our animals. Collapsible wheelchairs acceptable when accompanied by another adult. Nevada law requires children to be properly secured in a car seat until they are at least 6 years old and 60lbs. No children under 2 will be permitted on tour. Información importante: Hay una nueva regla en el Coliseo, el Foro Romano y el Monte Palatino que sólo permite la entrada de mochilas pequeñas y bolsas de mano de tamaño regular en el interior. Los clientes con bolas más grandes o maletas no podrán entrar con estas y tampoco hay taquillas para guardarlo. Recuerde que todos los visitantes deberán pasar por un control de seguridad antes de entrar al Coliseo. El Coliseo ha cambiado la política de admisión para garantizar un máximo de 3.000 personas en su interior, de manera que habrá menos multitudes durante las horas de máxima afluencia. A pesar de que las entradas exprés para ahorrarse colas son reservadas con antelación, puede haber un poco de retraso en la hora de entrada si el lugar ya ha alcanzado su capacidad máxima en ese momento. Este tour combina dos opciones diferentes que tenemos: "Lo mejor de Roma – Coliseo y Lugares de Interés" junto a nuestro tour por la tarde llamado "Lugares de Interés del Vaticano – Museos y Capilla Sixtina del Vaticano". También incluye un helado casero y transporte en taxi o autobús desde el centro de la ciudad hasta el Vaticano. ¡Todo junto por un mejor precio que si lo compra por separado! The Map Room The Map Room came into use on the very first day that the Cabinet War Rooms were ready for occupation and remained the heart of the site throughout the war.  The room was staffed twenty-four hours of every day, from August 1939 to August 1945.   The principal function of the Map Room was to act as a round the clock central point for information about the war. The War Cabinet Room This was the inner sanctum of British Government, the room used for meetings of the Prime Minister, a select few ministers and advisers of his War Cabinet and his Chiefs of Staff.  115 meetings of the War Cabinet took place and momentous decisions were taken in this room.  The scratched arms of the seat in which Churchill sat bear witness to the tensions of those crucial meetings at critical moments of the war. Churchill's Room Although his room in the Cabinet War Rooms boasted comforts of a higher standard than anywhere else in the complex, Winston Churchill preferred not to sleep there. He used his room at the Cabinet War Rooms for visits to the Map Room and for business, when forced to meet underground. He also delivered four of this wartime speeches from here, including his 11 September 1940 speech, warning of Hitler's plans to wage a war of terror against the United Kingdom. The Transatlantic Telephone Room The Transatlantic Telephone Room, to which a huge scrambler 'Sigsaly' was connected, created the original hot-line for allowing Churchill and the American President to conduct their vital strategic discussions in complete security.  Like all the rooms in the complex, this originally had a more humble purpose - it was once a store for brooms and domestic equipment.  It was adapted in mid-1943 to house this particularly secret installation. The Churchill Museum The Churchill Museum is divided into five chapters, spanning all ninety years of Churchill's life. To allow an easy transition from the historical context of the Cabinet War Rooms, the story begins on 10 May 1940 with Churchill's appointment as Prime Minister. The visitor can then explore his later years, his childhood, his early political career and finally the period known most famously as the 'Gathering Storm'. Facilities The Switchroom Café is a great place to relax with a range of hot and cold food freshly prepared on the premises, along with a variety of beverages on offer. Open 7 days a week from 10:00 until 17:00, the café is located halfway through the tour but visits to the café can be taken at any time.  The café also houses interesting photographic artefacts from the Second World War to view. All visitors are provided with a free personal Acoustic guide sound guide, available in English (adult, family and visually impaired version), French, German, Italian, Spanish, Hebrew, Dutch and Mandarin. Calypso Star Charters is fully licensed by the Department of Environment and Water.  They are also privileged to be the only one-day shark cage diving operator who is permitted to use natural fish berley to attract the Great White Sharks to our boat at the Neptune Islands Marine Park.  Being permitted to berley provides you with the best possible chance of a shark sighting and productive interaction close to the vessel and cage resulting in a memorable encounter and wonderful photographic opportunities. They only use locally sourced, natural fish product to attract the sharks, our tethered baits are attached by natural fibre twine.  The use of synthetic decoys is not permitted in South Australia. The practices are conducted with the utmost respect to the welfare of sharks Along with this license, they are proud to be Advanced Eco Certified and the Captains’ are Eco Certified Guides. Receiving this certification provides us with the recognition that we conduct the operations in a way that are environmentally conscious and sustainable whilst also providing an educational component. No minimum passenger numbers. If you're the only person booked they will still go! More departures than any operator. They operate on every available Activity Day.  The vessel, Calypso Star 2 is fitted with a gyroscopic active stabiliser, which has reduced the rolling motion of the vessel by up to 80%. If you are susceptible to seasickness do not compromise with a non-stabilised vessel. Largest vessel means fewer cancellations due to bad weather. The trip out can be rough but the Neptune Islands give us good shelter from the waves. The vessel can accommodate up to 45 guests across 2 decks with ample seating in air-conditioned comfort. 2 hot showers are also provided onboard. Actively support SARDI, CSIRO and Flinders University in their ongoing research into the Great White Sharks and their movement patterns around Neptune Islands.
