On the first day you will meet some of Australia’s most famous native animals at Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Park such where you learn about the conservation of these loveable native animals. Discover native animals in their natural habitat including Kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, brilliantly coloured birds and rare and endangered species. From there travel to the Nobbies and take a stroll along the clifftop boardwalk offering breathtaking views of Phillip island's wild south coast. The witness Victoria's largest colony of little penguins in the nightly Penguin Parade. As dusk falls, hundreds of little penguins splash out of the water on to the beach, making their way to their burrows. They feed at sea, and return to their burrow to mate, care for their young and moult. Drop off at The Island Accommodation (Budget Style Accommodation) for your overnight stay. On the second day you are transferred to the meeting point where you will travel towards the most southerly region of mainland Australia, Wilsons Promontory or “the Prom”. This National Park is one of Victoria’s most loved and cherished natural attractions and is home to many marsupials,such as kangaroos and wombats, native birds and other native animals. With a little luck you are able to see up close. The best way to explore the Prom is on foot so you will no doubt enjoy our hike along some spectacular tracks. Glasnevin Cemetery was established in 1828. An award winning museum was built in 2010 containing a café, shop, interactive exhibitions, genealogy section, and function space. Glasnevin is the largest cemetery in Ireland with over 1.5 million people buried there including many historical icons and regular Dubliners. Daniel O'Connell, the liberator and cemetery founder, whose monument tower is the tallest in Ireland, lies in a decorative crypt. Glasnevin now operates as a Tourist attraction in Dublin, its guided tours being particularly successful. It also continues to operate as a fully functioning facility for burials and cremations. Tours include a visit to Daniel O'Connell's Crypt. The tours are 1 1/4 hours and the museum is self guided. The O'Connell Tower is now open to visitors! You can now clumb the O'Connell Tower - Ireland's yallest round tower for the first time in over 45 years. As you pass through the ornate crpyt of Daniel O'Connell, you begin the journey to the top of the monument built in his honour. After a comprehensive restoration programme, the staircase in the tower is now accessible, complete with an exhibition about the legendary figure himself and the fascinating history pf the tower. Once at the top, you will enjoy 360 degree panoramic views of the sprawling grounds of the cemetary, the city of Dublin, Wicklow and the Irish Sea. Tower opening hours: 10am-5pm daily
