The View From The Shard The Shard is an iconic, landmark building on the London skyline, designed by Master Architect Renzo Piano. At a height of 1,016ft (310 m), the tallest building in Western Europe, the Shard redefines London's skyline and will be a dynamic symbol of London, recognisable throughout the world. The View is situated at the top of The Shard, on floors 68, 69 and 72, and almost twice the height of any other viewing platform in London. Prepare to embark on a multi-sensory journey to 244 m (800ft) above of one of the greatest cities on earth. On arrival at Level 00, you will be drawn into the tapestry of London with glimpses of the city laid out before you. Travelling skyward in two high-speed ‘kaleidoscopic' lifts, you'll swiftly reach Level 68 - a cloudscape above the world. Then journey to Level 69 where the view is revealed and London opens out before you. Here, in the sky above London, you'll experience an astonishing 360 degree, 64 km (40 mile) view over the city and beyond where the past, present and future of London will be unfurled beneath you, brought to life in multimedia displays. For the best view in town, ascend to Level 72, at 244 m, the highest public level of The Shard. You'll be exposed to the elements with sounds of the city around you. Looking up, you'll see the shards of glass that form the top of this skyscraper as they disappear upwards into the sky. Your Journey: Departing from Queenstown, a knowledgeable driver will provide an informative commentary on the points of interest along one of the world’s most picturesque drives – The Milford Road. Stop for some great photo opportunities along the way, before enjoying a two hour cruise aboard one of our specially designed small boats in Milford Sound. Sit back and relax as you cruise the length of the 16km fiord, out past St Annes Point Lighthouse, while skipper highlights points of interest along the way, including the mighty Lady Bowen Falls, Lion Mountain, Copper Point, Seal Rock and Stirling Falls.  Keep an eye out for local wildlife that can be found in the fiord, with New Zealand fur seals and dolphins spotted regularly, while occasionally the rare Fiordland Crested Penguin makes an appearance when in season. During the return journey we will have a brief refreshment break in the lakeside town of Te Anau. Where does the tour start? All tours start outside Gate 2 of Etihad Stadium, located in the Docklands area of the Melbourne CBD. Etihad Stadium can be easily reached via walking, train or tram (take any of trams 11, 35, 48, 70, 75, 86 or 96) and exiting at Southern Cross Station. Do I need to arrive early for my tour? It is advised that you arrive 5 minutes prior to your tour start time so that you can check in and go to the toilet or grab some snacks before the tour starts. What do I need to bring on the tour with me? It is highly recommended that you bring with you a poncho, umbrella, suncream, water and a hat. You can never guess what Melbourne's weather will do next! Do you offer tours in languages other than English? At present all of our tours are conducted only in English however we are working towards offering tours in additional languages. Is the tour suitable for all ages and for wheelchair users? The tour is suitable for all ages however unfortunately is not suitable for wheelchairs. What happens in the event of bad weather? Does the tour still run? A little rain never hurt anybody! City Sports Tours runs in all weathers.
