With the vivacious Wendy on his arm, Brett Whiteley was magnetic. He abhorred straight lines, adored drugs, alcohol, women. He worked in vivid colour and ravishing curves. Heroin was both muse and merciless master. Out of this tumultuous life spilled a messy array of brilliant artworks and astonishing self-reflection. In 2019, this Australian icon meets two of Australia’s greatest artists in a brand new work for the Australian stage: Whiteley, by Elena Kats-Chernin and Justin Fleming. Kats-Chernin is peerless among contemporary composers, celebrated for her enormous output and music that bursts with colour, life and tenderness. Fleming is a respected playwright and librettist whose work is renowned for its warmth, wit and poignancy. Together they’ve created an opera to honour the life and work of a man who could not extricate his talent from his demons. Production designer Dan Potra’s technology-driven set is an immersive world created from Whiteley’s most famous paintings. This is an extended 1hr 30 minute experience which includes a fully guided tour followed by a tasting of four Irish whiskeys before you blend your own personalised bottle of whiskey to take home. Well it all started with with the monks. Irish Whiskey History originated around the time of the 11th Century and it is believed that Irish Monks brought this technique of distilling perfumes back to Ireland from their travels through North Africa. En el lugar se llevaron a cabo 115 reuniones del gabinete de guerra y las decisiones más trascendentales se tomaron en esta sala. Los reposabrazos rascados del asiento en el que se sentó Churchill dan testimonio de las tensiones de esas reuniones cruciales en momentos críticos de la guerra. Churchill's Room A pesar de las comodidades de su habitación en las Cabinet War Rooms, a Winston Churchill no le gustaba dormir allí. Solo la utilizaba para visitas y negocios si se veía obligado a esconderse. También realizó cuatro de sus discursos durante la guerra allí, incluyendo el discurso del 11 de Setiembre de 1940, advirtiendo de los planes de Hitler para librar una guerra contra el Reino Unido. The Transatlantic Telephone Room Transatlantic Telephone Room, una habitación en la cual había conectado un encriptador 'Sigsaly' creó una línea de acceso directo que permitió a Churchill y el presidente Americano conversar sobre sus estrategias bajo seguridad total. Fue adaptada a medianos de 1943 para albergar esta instalación secreta. The Churchill Museum El Museo Churchill está dividido en 5 capítulos que abarcan los 90 años de la vida de Churchill. Penguin Point - an expanded state-of-the-art viewing and learning experience complete with a colony of Gentoo penguins. The new Antarctic-themed experience will give visitors a fascinating insight into the habitat and behaviour of penguins. It aims to explain how we can all play our part in conserving their environment whilst providing the opportunity for close range viewing of a delightful colony of resident Gentoo penguins. Ten Gentoo penguins will be resident in the bespoke new enclosure which has been carefully designed to reflect the needs of the species. The significantly enlarged area features two pools, a waterfall, underwater jets, rocks and landing areas and ice flakes.                 Crocidiles to take up residence in SEA LIFE London Aquarium! Crocodiles, Piranhas, a family of Poison Arrow Frogs and a host of exotic aquatic creatures will be taking up residence in an entirely new Rainforests of the World area at the SEA LIFE London Aquarium this Easter. Rainforests of the World will totally replace the existing rainforest area and provide a snapshot into the vulnerable eco-systems of Malaysia, West Africa and South America. In an immersive journey across three continents guests will get up close and personal with some of the rainforests most famous and feared residents. A pair of 6 ft West African Dwarf Crocodiles will be just snapping distance away in a specially created wetland habitat mirroring their African home. The family of highly toxic Poison Arrow Frogs will provide a kaleidoscope of color, but watch out for the alluring yellow Golden Dart Frog, the most lethal of them all. Continuing the small but deadly theme is one of Europe’s biggest collections of Piranha fish famed for their flesh eating frenzies.
