08:00 Your one day Tour begins from the Suffolk Street Tourist office (outside the old stone church). Your guide will do a quick introduction of the Tour and off you go!  As you pass through the northern suburbs of Dublin, your friendly guide will tell you about the interesting sites on the way, Croke Park- Home of Gaelic Games, Dublin Airport's controversial 2nd terminal and the Dublin Port tunnel that was built too small for the larger trucks to use!  10:15  As you arrive in Belfast you Tour West Belfast home to the famous 'The Peace Wall' which divides the republican and loyalist communities, the wall murals tell a own story from both sides of the fence. Visit the Republican Museum, with a large collection of artefacts and prison handicrafts, representing various phases of the struggle for Irish Freedom. (Please note that this is closed on Sunday and Monday).  11:00  You have some time to explore the City Centre, have something to eat and look around on your own.  Some suggestions maybe: Afternoon Tea with views of Belfast City Centre in the Europa Hotel. The Crown Liquor Saloon with its wooden partitions and ornate Victorian exterior, where you can show your political preference by walking either over the crown at the front entrance, or walk around it. The Grand Opera house Belfast City Hall Linen Hall Library - the oldest library in Belfast with exhibition space and a gift shop. St. Anne's cathedral (also known as Belfast Cathedral). If culture is your thing, find out more about its "Black Santa" or listen to its pipe organ play- the largest in Northern Ireland. The Cathedral Quarter - this area is home to many small art galleries and intriguing works of public art. It is also a hub of traditional pubs and arty bars if you want to enjoy a pint. It is a very pretty area to get lost in while you are in Belfast. There is also many different acclaimed restaurants to choose from for every taste.  The Merchant Hotel - have a peak at this beautiful hotel, home to the most expensive cocktail in Europe. Victoria Square - want to go shopping in Belfast? Victoria Square is Belfast's newest shopping centre with high street and designer shops to choose from and plenty of places to eat and drink.  The Albert Memorial Clock, Belfast's own leaning clock tower! 13:30 Your Tour continues with an introduction to East Belfast, home of the Harland & Wolff shipyard and birthplace of the Titanic, before heading south to the resting place of the Patron Saint of Ireland: Saint Patrick. ​ 14:45  Arriving at Downpatrick, first visit the St Patrick Centre with a walk through exhibition and film of Saint Patrick’s life.  After a short walk to the Down Cathedral you will see the last resting place of the great man who it is said, brought Christianity to Ireland.  16:00  As you head southwards the next stop is at the small seaside village of Dundrum and the Norman castle, built by John De Courcy in the 12th century. It is a ruin today but you can climb to the top of the fort walls and see the amazing views for miles. 17:00 From Dundrum your Tour takes in Northern Ireland’s largest mountain range, the Mourne Mountains. An area of outstanding beauty, gaze up at the highest peak called Slieve Donard and before you leave ask your guide to show you 'gravity hill' where you'll see your bus roll 'up' a hill all by itself!! 17:20 Sadly it is then time to depart the beautiful Mourne Mountains and start to make the journey back down to Dublin. You'll enjoy chatting and reminiscing about your days adventure to Northern Ireland while you listen to some traditional music along the way! 19.30 You should arrive back in Dublin.

Highlights Sail on a traditional wooden boat and tour the islands of the Caldera! Description The bus leaves from the head offices in the town of Fira and transfers you to the port of Athinios. The boat departs from the old port of Fira and heads towards the volcanic island of Nea Kameni, which lies just 10 minutes away from the bay of Fira. The boat will remain there for 1 hour 15 mins. This gives you plenty of time to walk up to the volcano’s active craters and take photos- it takes about 20 mins. It is worth reaching the top to experience the smoke evaporating and the sulfur's intense smell, when you scratch the volcano’s surface. The next stop is the island of Palaia Kameni where the Hot Springs are located. The boat anchors a few meters outside the small bay of Agios Nikolaos, it lowers down a ladder in the water and you will have 30 mins for a revitalising swim! You can swim a distance of about 30 meters into the famous mud baths of Palaia Kameni which are believed to have beneficial abilities for skin and other diseases. The water temperature is 30-35 degrees Celsius, but it is constantly mixed with sea water. The island of Thirassia is the next destination of your sailing tour, where you will have 2 hours free time to swim in the crystal waters of Korfos or to taste the local dishes in one of the traditional taverns.You can walk or take a donkey ride to the nearby picturesque village of Manolas with its narrow streets - the view from there to Santorini is definitely worth a visit.  During the return journey to the Old Port in Fira, you will experience sailing near the volcanic cliffs of Oia for a chance to capture with your camera the unique scenery. The bus will wait for you at Athinios Port to return and transfer you back to Fira Central Square. Learn how he and countless others were left jobless, oppressed and craving social change, especially after Ireland suffered the violence of its first Bloody Sunday. Listen, as he does, to James Connolly and the social leaders who promised change and a brighter future if they followed them into battle for it. Meet our member of the Cumann na mBan (the women’s faction of the Irish Volunteers) who was so moved by Padraig Pearse’s graveside speech at the funeral of the famous Fenian Jeremiah O’Donovan Rossa in 1915 she signed up the following day. Discover the key and dangerous roles these women, numbering nearly a quarter of those who rose that week, played in the battles that Easter. In the reading of the 1916 Proclamation of Independence and in their own words hear how they were fighting not only for the emancipation of Ireland but for a better future for Irish women. On the 1916 Rise of the Rebels Tour you will travel with our two rebels as they take you through the action all over the city during Easter week. See and hear about the sites where it all happened, some you may know and some whose histories have been less explored until now. From one of The Abbey Theatre’s leading actors, Sean Connolly, leading the first charge and firing the first shots of the Rising; resulting in the first casualty at City Hall as the rebels tried to take Dublin Castle. To Richmond Barracks where all the captured rebels plus many who were falsely accused of being so were imprisoned before the executions in Kilmainham. In-between discover where the fiercest battles were fought including The Four Courts and South Dublin Union. Hear the testimonies of the brave and brazen, such as the handful of men who took on the might of a battalion around Mount Street, and the women who dodged bullets to deliver messages all over the city. Then there are the stories of the trenches and strange amnesties in the gunfire torn St. Stephens Green and the dangerous women who patrolled its gates. Come with us to the GPO, The General Post Office, which acted as the headquarters for the rebels during the week of The 1916 Easter Rising. It was outside here that Padraig Pearse read out The Proclamation of Independence and decreed a free and equal Ireland for all. Inside Pearse along with 4 of the other signatories of the Proclamation, James Connolly, Tom Clarke, Sean MacDiarmada and Joseph Plunkett orchestrated the insurrection as bullets rained down upon the building. See the bullet holes that are still visible scars on the GPO today. At the end of the week they tunnelled their way through the homes on neighbouring Moore Street to escape the burning GPO as shells from the gunship Helga blasted them and the flames around them raged so hot the glass inside was melting. Follow the path of the doomed revolutionaries as they ran the gauntlet under heavy machine gun fire to Moore Street and visit the site of one of The Rising’s most tragic deaths, that of The O’Rahilly. It was here around Moore Street where The O’Rahilly penned his last goodbyes to his wife and hiding inside its beleaguered walls the remaining rebels decided to surrender. The 1916 Rise of Rebels Bus Tour will show you the heart of the rebellion using the actual words and testimonies of the men and women who fought for Irish Independence in the 1916 Easter Rising.
