G&L (George and Leo) war Fenders zweite Firma die er nach dem Verkauf seiner Fender-Company an CBS gründete, und die er bis zu seinem Tod im März 1991 leitete. Somit stellen die Instrumente von G&L die finale Version von Leos Lebenstraum (das perfekte Saiteninstrument zu bauen) dar.    Dort, wo 1951 der erste Elektobass das Licht der Welt erblickte, entstehen seit 1980 die G&L Bässe und Gitarren. Hier wird wirklich alles so gemacht, wie Leo Fender es vorgegeben hat, zum Großteil mit den originalen Maschinen, mit denen Fender Ende der 40er Jahren die allerersten E-Gitarren gebaut hat! Die Verarbeitungsqualität ist makellos und nicht nur das, die Instrumente \"leben\", man spürt das vom ersten Moment an, wenn man diese Instrumente antestet!    Die Tribute Gitarren und Bässe werden zwar in Korea gefertigt, es werden aber die original USA Hardware und die USA-Pickups verbaut.
