Liberty's sumptuous 'Dreams of Summer' fabric is an archive design originally painted in rich, vibrant oils in the Liberty studio. Part of the current season celebration of the world of 19th century romantic poetry it evokes the inspiration to be found in natural abundance and Summer colour. A great variety of flowers are depicted in a Fauvist-like manner with all of the expression given to heightened and subtle colour shapes, without linear elements. A painting of pure light. Printed on inimitable Tana lawn, a luxurious long fibre cotton with superior definition and supple, silky hand feel Dreams of Summer is a joyous celebration at the boundary between fine and decorative arts, in the best tradition. With a three button cuff and in our intelligent tailored fit for a confidence inspiring all day wear. Very beautiful
Part of Liberty's 'Aesthetic Renaissance' collection which celebrates the life and vision of the company's founder Arthur Lasenby Liberty. One of the original merchant adventurers Arthur Liberty introduced the fascinating, exotic design ideas he had encountered to the emerging aesthetic movement, of which Liberty became a central pillar. Supplementing the inspiration found in far flung locales are designs which derive from Arthur Liberty's love of the English countryside into which he escaped upon leaving the buzz of the London store. Emma Louise was Arthur Liberty's wife. This design hails from the early 1900s. A host of pretty, exuberantly stylised small flowers - roses, buttercups, forget-me-nots, anemones cluster together in a classic ditzy floral repeat. Pure joy! Finest Tana lawn cotton from Liberty, three button cuff, classic collar, intelligent tailored regular fit
