La cause la plus courante de défaillance du compresseur est une fuite dans le système de suspension pneumatique, probablement dans l'un des ressorts pneumatiques. Les ressorts pneumatiques qui fuient doivent être remplacés immédiatement pour maintenir le niveau optimal de performance du compresseur.
