The tour is fully interactive and suitable for beer lovers and history lovers alike. The tour begins in 1231, long before John Smithwick ever set foot in the city. Walk the echoing halls in the Abbey of St. Francis, where clever monks found a way of purifying the deadly water that coursed through their land. Using the natural ingredients which grow in abundance near the abbey, they purified water from the local well by crafting it into ale. From the moment you step into the Cole House, five generations of Smithwicks illuminate their story of unwavering endurance and unbeatable ingenuity through photos, portraits, letters and lively conversation. Cosy up by the fireplace and learn how one family turned a humble Kilkenny ale into a brew famous the world over! In the Brewhouse you will learn about perfecting the art of mixing four simple ingredients to produce a ruby red ale enjoyed all over the world. But that doesn't mean we are resting on our laurels. We are constantly innovating, and in the Brewhouse you'll discover just what gives our ruby ale its unique character and flavour. After an exciting trip back in time it is time for a rest pint! The perfect place to judge a pint of Smithwick's? A tasting room, of course. The distinctive taste of our ale, characterised by its fruity aroma and delicate notes, has been winning us awards since 1892. Ein Ausflug in eine zauberhafte Alpenwelt - Die Tour entlang der Deutschen Alpenstraße führt Sie zum Obersalzberg, dem geschichtsträchtigen Kehlsteinhaus und nach Berchtesgaden. Der Weg nach Berchtesgaden führt uns durch atemberaubende Täler und auf den Obersalzberg. Hier haben Sie die Möglichkeit das NS-Dokumentationszentrum zu besichtigen (fakultativ). Eine Fahrt mit Spezialbus und Lift führt Sie hoch hinaus in die Berchtesgadener Alpen. Hier wird – sofern es das Wetter zulässt das Kehlsteinhaus besichtigt (in der Regel ab Mitte Mai geöffnet). Wenn das Wetter nicht mitspielt, besuchen wir stattdessen das Salzbergwerk. Reiseleitung in deutscher und englischer Sprache. They are made up of various types of perpendicular or overhanging rocks including sandstone, siltstone and shale.  These cliffs have been broken into the most fantastic forms, and eroded into hundreds of caves by the relentless pounding of the Atlantic waves. Lunch stop at McGann's pub where you can Enjoy some home-made soups, light meals, cakes and desserts, as well as a wide selection of hot and cold drinks if you desire in the picturesque village of Doolin We make our way to Doolin Cave for the 2pm Tour. You'll never see anything else like it.... Oh, and did we mention, your Driver and his father built the very tunnel you went down in today - did you spot his picture on the wall? After the Cave, we make our way to The Burren - a region of County Clare in the southwest of Ireland. It’s a karst landscape of bedrock incorporating a vast cracked pavement of glacial-era limestone, with cliffs and caves, fossils, rock formations and archaeological sites.  After the Burren, we make our way to Galway City. The city’s hub is 18th-century Eyre Square, a popular meeting spot surrounded by shops, traditional pubs, stone-clad cafes, boutiques and art galleries within winding lanes and medieval city walls.
