Glasnevin Cemetery was established in 1828. An award winning museum was built in 2010 containing a café, shop, interactive exhibitions, genealogy section, and function space. Glasnevin is the largest cemetery in Ireland with over 1.5 - 1.6 million people buried there including many historical icons and regular Dubliners. Daniel O'Connell, the liberator and cemetery founder, whose monument tower is the tallest in Ireland, lies in a decorative crypt. Glasnevin now operates as a Tourist attraction in Dublin, its guided tours being particularly successful. It also continues to operate as a fully functioning facility for burials and cremations.  Tours include a visit to Daniel O'Connell's Crypt. The tours are 1 1/4 hours and the museum is self guided. The O'Connell Tower is now open to visitors! You can now climb the O’Connell Tower – Ireland’s tallest round tower for the first time in over 45 years.  As you pass through the ornate crypt of Daniel O’Connell, you begin the journey to the top of the monument built in his honour. After a comprehensive restoration programme, the staircase in the tower is now accessible, complete with an exhibition about the legendary figure himself and the fascinating history of the tower. Once at the top, you will enjoy 360 degree panoramic views of the sprawling grounds of the cemetery, the city of Dublin, Wicklow and the Irish Sea. Tower opening hours: 10am-5pm daily.

L'Hemisfèric’s function is as a projection hall with three separate systems projecting onto a curved 900sq.m screen above more than 300 patrons. There’s an Imax dome, a 3D digital screen and digital full dome projections, often of an astronomical nature. Lie back and be transported to another dimension. All these dramatic features have earned nicknames such as the Eye of Knowledge and the Planetarium. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and in the case of L'Hemisfèric, it truly is a sight to behold.  The Imax dome serves as the ‘pupil’ of the eye and the ‘eyelid’ opens and closes by means of hydraulic lifts, which operate the steel and glass shutter. The building itself is surrounded by a massive pond, the bottom of which is glass, creating the illusion of the eye as a whole. The interior boasts a delightful little effect that allows you and a friend to stand at two opposite pillars inside the eye that allow you to talk with each other as if you were side by side. 

This is a sacred mountain, as for over a thousand years there was a Christian pilgrimage. There’s much to know about Sliabh League, like the monks who went to Iceland or the eagle and the baby! The scenery all the way up to the Cliffs is spectacular with views of the Atlantic and the Sligo Mountains out in the distance. You also have a great view overlooking Donegal Bay. As you reach the summit you are rewarded with the most beautiful sight of the walk - the cliff face of Bunglas (which simply means "End of Cliff"). See the ruins of a watchtower (as per video below) at the end of Carrigan Head on your journey up also. This watchtower was constructed to defend the northwest coast during the early 19th century when there was the threat of a Napoleonic attack. We then pass through a lovely village called Carrick, before reaching a small harbour village called Teelin. Teelin has a famous Pub called "The Rusty Mackerel" where we stop for a rest. The name of the rusty mackerel came about because way back when there was no refrigeration, they would salt the mackerel in wooden barrels and this way they would keep for months on end without losing their freshness.  One of these barrels can be seen still standing outside the front of the pub! Visit historic Donegal Town - home of the O'Donnell Clan and Donegal Castle, and is situated just on the edge of Donegal Bay. The centre of town, known locally as 'The Diamond', is surrounded by bustling cafes, shops, and bars. Stop at Killybegs Harbour which has long been acknowledged as Ireland’s leading fishing port, and a stroll along the pier gives a chance to admire the fishing boats, net menders, and perhaps even catch a glimpse of the seals. There is no time limit as to how long guests can stay on the observation decks during operating hours. The average length of stay is about 45 minutes to an hour. Top of the Rock is a three level observation deck that consists of the 67th, 69th, and 70th floors of 30 Rockefeller Plaza. Total surface area of all the decks together is approximately 55,000 square-feet (5,110 m2). The upper deck is 850 feet (260 m) above street level. Are there restrooms located at Top of the Rock? Yes, restrooms can be accessed once inside the attraction. Can I visit the mezzanine level exhibit after I visit the observation decks? Due to crowd flow purposes, the pre-show exhibit can only be viewed before visiting the observation decks. Is there an outdoor viewing area? The 67th and 69th floors include outdoor terraces which feature fully transparent, safety glass. The 70th floor, the uppermost level, provides a completely open air, unobstructed 360-degree view of New York City and beyond. Is Top of the Rock weather dependent? Top of the Rock is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, despite weather conditions. In the case of inclement weather, portions of the deck may be closed for safety reasons. Guests will be advised about weather conditions and visibility prior to entry. Top of the Rock will not refund tickets in the case of inclement weather, however we will reissue your ticket for a future time and date. Is the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and/or Skating Rink visible from the Top of the Rock? Unfortunately, no. However, both are easily accessible from the Concourse retail shop where guests exit the elevators after their visit. Is Top of the Rock wheelchair accessible? Top of the Rock is in full compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. This includes full wheelchair accessibility. Are strollers allowed? Strollers are permitted, however they must be collapsible. Can I bring tripods? What about professional video cameras? We do not allow tripods or professional video cameras on the observation deck. Are specific items prohibited from entering the building and/or observation deck? Items that present a danger to the safety of visitors and employees will not be permitted in the building or on the observation decks.
