Castillo de Edimburgo Información del Castillo de Edimburgo Encontrará muchas cosas que hacer y ver en el Castillo de Edimburgo. Para empezar unas vistas impresionantes, ya que el castillo ocupa un lugar privilegiado en lo alto de la ciudad, por otro lado, también encontrará mucho que contemplar en su interior. El Gran Salón es una de las principales atracciones, este se utiliza como sede principal para las asambleas de estado y se cree que fue acabado en el siglo XVI. Mide 29 por 12 metros y tiene muchos elementos admirables como el techo renacentista. También podrá aprender mucho en su visita al Castillo de Edimburgo, en el Museo de la Guerra Nacional, en la Exposición de Prisiones de Guerra, en el Museo al Regimento Royal Scots, en el Memorial de la Guerra Nacional Escocesa y en el Museo al Regimento Royal Scots Dragoon Guards. Observe los cañones del Castillo de Edimburgo para conocer la artillería, una parte importante de la historia militar del castillo. El Mons Meg es capaz de disparar una piedra de 150 kg a más de 3 kilómetros y cuando fue construido era tecnología pionera. El One O'clock Gun se llama así porque se disparaba en esa hora todos los días. Esto se estableció en 1861 para informar de la hora a los barcos cercanos. Las joyas de la corona del Castillo de Edimburgo, conocidas como Honores de Escocia, son también de visita obligada debido a su impresionante belleza. Están permanentemente expuestas en la Sala de la Corona. La capilla del Castillo de Edimburgo se llama St. Margaret's y es el edificio más antiguo que se conserva en Edimburgo. Fue construida en 1130 por David I y para su madre, y siempre cuenta con flores frescas. Tiene una bóveda a prueba de bombas desde el siglo XVI, cuando se utilizó como un almacén de pólvora. ¿Dónde se encuentra el Castillo de Edimburgo? El Castillo de Edimburgo ocupa una posición dominante en el centro de la ciudad, en la cima de un volcán extinto de 700 millones de años de antigüedad llamado Castle Rock. Con vistas a la capital, el Castillo de Edimburgo forma parte del conjunto llamado “Old and New Towns of Edinburgh” que es Patrimonio de la Humanidad. La excursión de 2 horas es una buena manera de disfrutar del mar. Cuando las ballenas y delfines se encuentran cerca de la embarcación, se tienen vistas excelentes a través de las ventanas acristaladas, pero si se encuentran lejos, se pueden ver igualmente desde la cubierta. La observación de estos animales es parecida a la pesca y no siempre se puede asegurar que  se pueden ver, pero definitivamente tiene más posibilidades de verlas en estas aguas que en cualquier otro lugar de Europa. A través del cristal podrá ver una gran variedad de peces, y si las ballenas nadan por debajo del barco las podrá observar desde muy cerca. A medida que se adentran en el mar, tendrá unas espectaculares vistas de la costa y de la isla. Una manera perfecta de disfrutar un día en familia bajo el sol y la brisa de mar. La montaña del Tibidabo es visible desde casi toda la ciudad de Barcelona. Alzando por encima de la ciudad hasta los 518 metros de altura, la Montaña del Tibidabo es el pico más alto de la Sierra de Collserola. Gracias a su privilegiada situación es un lugar de visita frecuente para viajeros y curiosos que desean ver unas increíbles vistas de Barcelona y la línea costera. Además de sus magníficas vistas, Tibidabo también es famoso por su Parque de Atracciones. Construido en 1889, en Parque será un emocionante viaje al pasado. Si ya está cansado de visitar catedrales y museos en Barcelona, escape del ajetreo de la ciudad y aventúrese hacia el Tibidabo. Hay 3 razones principales por las que la gente visita la montaña: las vistas, el Templo del Sagrado Corazón, una Iglesia católica diseñada por Enric Sagnier, y el Parque de Atracciones. El Parque de Atracciones del Tibidabo es el lugar perfecto para familias, parejas y grupos. Durante años, el Parque ha conservado muchas de sus atracciones originales, muchas provenientes de principios del Siglo XX. En 6 niveles podrá encontrar diferentes atracciones incluyendo: montañas rusas, una atracción de troncos, autos de choque, un carrusel y mucho más. También hay un cine 4D en Dibidabo, la zona infantil del Parque, y el Hotel Krüeger, para los que quieran emociones fuertes. ¡Un espectáculo no apto para los corazones delicados! Y en los días calurosos y soleados disfrutará de un gran día en la cima del Mundo desde el Parque de Atracciones Tibidabo. Y no sólo es divertido estar en el Parque de Atracciones del Tibidabo, porque incluso lo es llegar a él. Para subir la montaña hay que coger el tranvía del Tibidabo, un medio de transporte construido en 1901 que todavía conserva su encanto y magia. Pero aquí no acaba todo, porque después del viaje en el tranvía queda un magnífico viaje en funicular, que le mostrará vistas espectaculares de Barcelona. También hay autobuses que van directamente hasta el Parque (2'95€ por persona), y aunque son muy cómodos, ¡tienen menos encanto!

Comfortable walking shoes are advised. There are 422 steps to the top of the towers at Notre Dame. The stairway is vey narrow in areas with small windows. If these conditions make you feel unconfortable you can skip this part of the tour. All of our tours operate rain or shine.

Explore artifacts from the Adler collections that illustrate the ever-evolving definition of a planet. This temporary exhibition, which is included with general admission, will be open to the public from March 19, 2016 through January 8, 2017. Mission Moon -  WHAT YOU WILL DISCOVER Mission Moon invites you to experience America’s first steps into space through the eyes of NASA’s Captain James A. Lovell Jr. and his family. You’ll find out how the United States became the first nation to put a man on the Moon, what it’s really like to be an astronaut, and why it takes a team to explore uncharted worlds. Community Design Lab -  In the Community Design Lab (CDL), you can test different materials to find out which ones will survive the journey to 100,000 feet above the Earth’s surface. Your discoveries may find their way into a future flight with Far Horizons, the Adler’s high-altitude ballooning program! If you could photograph an object in space, what would it be, and who would you share it with? In the CDL, you can build a DIY telescope-mount for your smartphone and become an instant astrophotographer! Test it out on one of our ’scopes and share your photos on social media. In Telescopes: Through the Looking Glass, you’ll find extraordinary beauty and technology in some of the world’s most important telescopes and learn how these clever light-catching devices helped us discover our Universe. Clark Family Gallery  WHAT YOU WILL DISCOVER This futuristic, constantly changing environment features a one-of-a-kind architecture with vibrant lighting and video presentations. It was created using approximately 13,000 linear feet of aluminum tubing and 20,000 square yards of fabric. The gallery also has 125 LED lights, each capable of producing sixteen million different colors and over two billion different lighting combinations. Astronomy in Culture -  WHAT YOU WILL DISCOVER Go back in time and learn about some of the people and societies who have challenged themselves to understand our place in the Universe. This exhibition features spectacular astrolabes, armillary spheres, and sundials to illustrate the medieval European and Middle Eastern conception of the Universe. Visit our medieval classroom to find out how much different school was back then. Learn how to use early astronomy tools including astrolabes and sundials. Atwood Sphere -  WHAT YOU WILL DISCOVER Experience the night sky over Chicago as it appeared in 1913 in the Atwood Sphere – Chicago’s oldest planetarium. Although the star positions have not changed since then, we can see only a small percentage of these stars in our current night sky due to light pollution. The sphere is seventeen feet in diameter and has 692 holes drilled through its metal surface. These holes allow light to enter and show the positions of the brightest stars in the night sky.
