Der Name 8000 rührt von der extrem hohen Stockdichte in der Lage Raa: 8000 Reben auf einem Hektar, bei sehr geringem Ertrag. Jeder Stock hat nur ganz wenige Trauben, die er aber besonders gut ernähren kann, wodurch eine hohe physiologische Reife erzielt wird. Prägend ist auch der kalkreiche Boden und die Genetik des alten Grünen Veltliner Klons. Im Glas entfaltet sich ein rassiges Bouquet, das nach grünen Äpfeln und Holunderblüten duftet, im Hintergrund leichte Anflüge von Gewürznoten. Am Gaumen zeigt er sich dicht und konzentriert, mit viel Schmelz und leichten Burgunderanklängen. Die pikante Säure und ein leichtes Pfefferl bringen eine herrliche Frische ein. Passt zu: gebratenem Geflügelfleisch, cremigem Risotto, Kalbsmedaillons mit Spargel oder Pasta Gerichte mit Garnelen.
