Day 1: Start your Melbourne immersion with the road trip everyone's talking about! Follow the historical Great Ocean Road, one of the world's most scenic coastal routes, as it winds along Victoria's southwest coast, passing long golden beaches, rugged sandstone cliffs and eucalypt-tree rainforest. At the Cape Otway Lighthouse, gaze out over the Southern Ocean and Bass Strait before tucking into a delicious Aussie style lunch. Hear the tragic tales of the Loch Ard Gorge and discover why this spectacularly wild part of Victoria is known as the Shipwreck Coast. The route also takes you among the soaring eucalypt trees of the Otway rain forest, and to the shipwreck coast where you will step down to the beach at Loch Ard Gorge and further along view the offshore sandstone stacks called the Twelve Apostles. Day 2: Next day, travel to Phillip Island to visit the Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park for a hands-on wildlife experience. Learn about the park's conservation efforts, hand-feed a kangaroo, see wallabies and wombats, or have the opportunity to get a photo taken with a koala (*Fee Applies). Enjoy lunch near a billabong teeming with native water birds, and then head to the Churchill Island Heritage Farm to see sheep shearing and working dogs in action at the historic farm. Visit the nearby Koala Conservation Centre to glimpse these cuddly, eucalyptus-loving marsupials. Finally, arrive on Phillip Island, catching views of the Nobbies and Seal Rocks before finding a seat on the boardwalk at Summerland Beach. Every night at sunset, hundreds of little penguins swim in from a day of fishing and scurry across the shore to snuggle into their burrows. The starting point of this open-top bus tour is at Larcomar, Bus Stop 1. Make sure you check out the shopping centre nearby before you get on to one of our buses, you'll find so many shops there for everyone's tastes. We'll pick you up straight from the bus stop at Larcomar. Don't worry, you won't miss our buses, they're bright red, London style buses with an open top roof! Hop on-board and enjoy the views from up high as we drive past 7 of Lima's finest attractions. Get your camera ready! First up at Bus Stop 2 you'll see Parque Kennedy and it's beautiful surroundings, located right in the heart of the Miraflores district. Next up is the historical landmark Huaca Pucllana at Bus Stop 3. Here you'll see pre-Incan pyramids up close, all of which are still very much intact, right in the city centre.  We'll drive you straight through the Plaza Grau at Bus Stop 4 where you'll be able to take in the vibrant energy and witness the monument in the centre, a sculpture that stands over 20 metres tall, created by the Spanish sculptor, Victorio Macho. We'll take a peaceful drive through Plaza Mayor, also known as the Plaza de Armas and you'll be able to see some of the most spectacular buildings in Lima, including the Government Palace and the Municipal Palace of Lima. After departing San Francisco, you’ll head through California’s capital city, Sacramento, through the Sierra foothills and into the famous Gold Rush Country, cresting a high mountain pass within the Sierra Nevada. Then we’ll wind our way through large pine forests, before dramatically descending into South Lake Tahoe. Afternoon:  In the evening, we’ll settle into our centrally located hotel and then head out to happy hour with the Apres Ski crowd at the base of Heavenly Mountain Resort before a comfy night’s rest.   SAMPLE ITINERARY – DAY 2 (FRIDAY) SOUTH LAKE TAHOE: CHOOSE YOUR ADVENTURE All Day:  While masses of people are piling into their cars to head to the mountains, you’ll be on the first lift up to carve the groomers, or to get fresh tracks in that Heavenly powder! Don’t worry if you’re not really into skiing, our guides will offer the opportunity to go out on a fabulously scenic drive on the mountain roads surrounding Lake Tahoe, or maybe even a snowshoe adventure! If you’re really just here for the casinos, they’re open 24 hours, and you’re welcome to see if Lady Luck is on your side all day if you like! Don’t want to miss out on any of it? No problem, we’re flexible: our guides know their stuff, and we’ll help you fit in a scenic drive in the morning, get yourself a half day ticket on the mountain, and then hit the casinos all night long!   SAMPLE ITINERARY – DAY 3 (SATURDAY) SOUTH LAKE TAHOE TO SQUAW VALLEY & TRUCKEE, CA Morning:  We’ll hit the road early this morning and head toward historic Tahoe City taking in views of Emerald Bay before heading toward the famous Squaw Valley Resort. If you’re heading up onto this epic ski and snowboarding destination today, you’ll be glad if you dusted off the cobwebs on Heavenly yesterday. This place is the real deal, where you can often see extreme athletes pushing the envelope, soaring from the cliffs as you ride up the famous KT-22 Express. Make sure you bring your swimsuit too: the High Camp Pool and Hot Tub high on the resort is open for business…all winter long! This side of the lake also offers amazing snowshoeing or cross country skiing opportunities as well. Once again, you’ll be offered the choice to head up on the ski hill, or we’ll take you out on the trails through Stanislaus National Forest or maybe a snowshoe hike near the Donner Memorial State Park and explore the history of the ill-fated pioneers of the Donner Party as they struggled to travel west in their wagons and became stranded in the winter of 1846-47. If the weather is pleasant, the roof will be retracted and you will experience true romance – a gourmet buffet-style dinner under the stars. After departure you can select from a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and fully enjoy the glowing panorama of Prague Castle with St. Vitus Cathedral. You will pass under Charles Bridge and thanks to the glass roof you will see its 600-year-old stone pillars in detail. The cruise will continue past Kampa Island to the old river locks. There you can see the illuminated National Theatre on the other side of the river. When you enter the river locks, you can count how many penguins are there – at night it will be lit up. Here you will see the famous Dancing House on the other side of the locks. After reaching the Vyšehrad cliff, where you will fully appreciate the panoramic view through the glass roof, the boat turns and heads back. On the way to the dock you will pass by the Straka Academy, the Civic Swimming Pool and Prague Metronome above your head. At the end of the cruise you can enjoy the magnificent view of Prague's panorama glowing in the night once again before you land.
