Les pois casses font de delicieuses purees ou soupes. Description et origine : Le terme pois est apparu dans la langue francaise au 12e siecle. Sa culture principale proviendrait d Asie centrale, mais il aurait egalement ete cultive au Proche-Orient, sur le bassin mediterraneen et en Ethiopie. Sa domestication remonterait a environ 10 000 ans comme pour les anciens bles et les lentilles. En France et plus precisement dans le Languedoc, on aurait retrouve des graines de pois qui dateraient de 7 000 ans avant notre ere. La culture du pois s etablira ensuite partout.
