The old port in Fira is accessible only: By cable car: It is perfectly safe, it consists of 6 wagons and has capacity of 6 persons per wagon. During high season (April-October) it runs every 20 minutes. Single tickets cost €5 for adults and €2.50 for children. On foot: You would need to walk down the famous 600 steps of the traditional road that connects the old port with the town of Fira. The descend takes about 20-30 minutes, depending on your physical condition. By donkey: The donkeys used to be the traditional transportation way of the island. They go up and down to the old port of Fira frequently. A single ride costs around €5 per person and takes about 20 minutes. Most people prefer to take the donkey on their way up.

Upon arrival at the island, wetsuits, masks and snorkels are provided and you are ready for the most playful swim ever. The crew will lower the tender vessel into the water, which will transport you closer to shore. A crew member will be in the water with you at all times. Once in the water, the Sealions entice you to come and play. With summersaults and swirls they glide effortlessly past. Simply float in the water with an out-stretched hand, staying nice and calm and let them approach. The more twists and turns you do the more they will play, and enjoy being one on one with the Australian Sealion! Sealions are endangered and the permit is strict. You are not permitted to be too close to the beach and at all times you need to remember that they are endangered and must not approach or intimidate them. After approximately an hour of swimming it is time to climb back onto the boat, a hot shower awaits and the coffee machine is ready! Age Requirements Children under the age of 8 years old, are only allowed to enter the ocean at the Skippers discretion on the day.  All children under the age of 16 years old, require adult supervision. We will have a comfort break on the way and then head into the Northern Irish countryside. Along the drive you will visit the Dark hedges, a picturesque tree-lined road that looks as if it comes straight out of a story book. The Dark Hedges represents the King’s Road in the famous television series “Game of Thrones” and is an avenue of beech trees with branches hanging over the road.. Next we visit and cross Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge which connects a 23m-deep and 20m-wide chasm between the mainland and a small island that has been used over the years by fishermen to place netting to capture migrating salmon.  Following a 20 minute scenic cliff walk, you can traverse the bridge to the island with its abundance of birdlife, and to enjoy the spectacular coastal views from a different vantage point. After lunch it is time for The Giants Causeway which is the highlight of the trip . This UNESCO World Heritage site consists of a series of over 40,000 hexagonal shaped rocks that looks like a grand set of stairs leading into the sea, the formation of which has been astounding generations. These awe-inspiring stones have resulted in inspiring many a myth and stories surrounding their origin, some of which your guide will just to be happy tell you in full technicolour! After the amazing Giants Causeway we continue to the spectacular Dunluce Castle, precariously perched on Cliffside , once home of the notorious McDonnell clan! This tour includes a self guided tour of Dunluce where you will get an insight to its fascinating history and the peerless family who owned it. Finally, you will arrive back in Dublin at around dinner time to reminisce about your northern adventure.
