Among peaks standing almost 3,000 metres high, the welcoming Vall de Núria awaits you with its wonderful flora and fauna so you can enjoy an unforgettable day out. Your journey begins on the rack railway which covers a distance of 10 kilometres on a 1,000-metre gradient. You’ll be able to enjoy matchless panoramic views of the valley from the air from inside the cabin of a ski lift. Once you’ve reached the valley, you’ll be able to visit the shrine, enjoy views of the lake or walk along the many signposted paths you’ll find there. To round off the day, you’ll be able to sample some of the tasty cured meats and sausages produced in the area, as well as the Núria liqueur.
Leaving Glasgow you will head north-west through the rugged Highlands of Scotland until you reach Inveraray, a quaint town built in the mid-18th century on the shores of Loch Fyne. Here you can choose to visit Inveraray Castle* the historic home of the Duke of Argyll, chief of the Clan Campbell, nestled in large beautiful gardens overlooking Loch Fyne. Alternatively, explore the town’s white-washed Georgian houses, wide streets and breathtaking views across the loch. Your route climbs further north into the Highlands through stunning scenery marked by several dramatic castles and beautiful lochs. You'll pause to admire Kilchurn Castle, one of Scotland’s most photographed castles, nestled on the banks of Loch Awe and beautifully framed by mountains. Next you will make a stop for lunch in the picturesque harbour town of Oban, ‘Gateway to the Isles’, with free time to explore its horseshoe bay and see MacCaig’s Folly, an iconic 19th century tower reminiscent of the Colosseum in Rome. After free time exploring, we travel onwards past the 15th century Castle Stalker, which is set on a small island on Loch Laich, before reaching Glencoe, one of Scotland’s most haunting glens and site of the 1692 massacre of the MacDonald clan. The return journey will take you over the dramatic landscape of Rannoch Moor and the Black Mount before you make the final stop at the pretty conservation village of Luss on the ‘Bonnie, Bonnie Banks’ of Loch Lomond. Here you can feel free to walk along the shore or admire the village before returning to Glasgow. *OPTIONAL EXTRA. The exhibition, in association with EON Productions Ltd, has been the most successful in the history of the London Film Museum. Originally scheduled to close in March 2015, it features over 100 original artefacts spanning all 24 Bond films, including vehicles, miniatures, concept art and storyboards. Public demand for the exhibition was so consistently high that the London Film Museum management decided to keep it open indefinitely. London Film Museum Founder and CEO, Jonathan Sands said: “Bond in Motion far exceeded all our expectations and we’re delighted with the public’s reaction to it. It’s proved a huge hit with families, Bond lovers, movie fans and car nuts alike".
