Henry VIII's Great Hall The Great Hall is England’s greatest medieval hall and one of Britain’s oldest theatres. William Shakespeare’s company performed there in 1603-4. Tudor kitchens and live Tudor cookery Built to feed the Court of Henry VIII, the kitchens were expected to provide meals for 600 people twice a day. See the kitchens today and experience the sights and smells of a real Tudor kitchen! Beautiful gardens Wander through over 60 acres of beautifully maintained and internationally celebrated gardens at Hampton Court Palace. Discover the last resting place of the Kings of France and its unique collection of 70 sculpted tombs. Tour of the Basilica of St Denis Here you'll be able to see the grave of Saint Denis, a Bishop of Paris who died in 250 AD, the royal abbey of Saint-Denis, the burial place of 43 kings, 32 queens and 10 servants of the monarchy. During this visit you'll also be able to see the basilica which was raised to the rank of cathedral in 1966. Enter the Museum of sculptures, featuring over 70 recumbent statues and monumental tombs from the Renaissance, see how the basilica contains within its walls the largest collection of funerary sculptures from the 12th to the 16th century. The birth of Gothic art, the church designed by Abbot Suger, the kings' advisor from 1135 to 1144, completed in the 13th century during the reign of Saint Louis: a major work of Gothic art, this church was the first place of great importance of light and symbol of divinity in religious architecture.

Start your day trip to the East Algarve with a hotel pickup, and then travel by air-conditioned coach to the pretty town of Almancil, roughly 8 miles (13km) northwest of Faro. Head inside the town’s crowning glory, the beautiful Church of St Lourenço (Igreja de São Lourenço de Matos), and marvel at its stunning blue-and-white wall tiles while exploring. The tiles depict the story of St Lourenço who used money from the Catholic Church to pay for the poor until he was caught by the Romans. Continue to Faro, the Algarve’s capital, for a walking tour of its elegant Old Town. Amble around the charming cobblestone streets and see the Arc da Vila, a monument that was commissioned to mark the entrance to the Old Town after a devastating earthquake in 1755. After exploring the streets, enjoy some free time to sightsee independently or shop for souvenirs to take home. Meet back up with your guide and travel to the nearby town of Olhão with its bustling fishing port and Moorish-esque neighborhoods and cube-shaped houses. Stretch your legs on a walk around with your guide, and then take a break for lunch at your own expense; your guide will have plenty of restaurant recommendations if you need them. Your last stop of the day is the beautiful city of Tavira, a town often called the 'Venice of the Algarve' after its location that straddles the River Gilão. Steeped in history, Tavira is home to Roman bridges, Renaissance churches and historical monuments aplenty, but it’s Tavira Castle — a structure thought to date to Neolithic days — that is the town’s most intriguing sight. Pay your entrance fee and then head inside the site to explore the castle's ramparts and ruins. Leave Tavira in the late afternoon and travel back to your Algarve hotel where your day trip finishes.

A high-speed adventure your whole family will love?! Slide around the waters of Albufeira on a thrilling 30-minute ride on a Jet boat. Driven by an expert captain, the boat speeds, spins and splashes, so be prepared to have fun and get wet while enjoying views of Portugal’s scenic southern coastline. As the Jet boat takes off from the harbor, grab the safety bar in front of you and hold on — your captain is about to take you on a wild ride.
