Like all LS2 helmets, the Spitfire has a sun visor that protects the rider from radiation on sunny days. It can be replaced by other sun visors in different colors and placed in two different positions. Perfect grip and reliability on the way
Quick release
The metal buckle combines with a high-quality chin strap with a plastic tongue with teeth. When closing you hear a soft "click". As far as locking until you reach a comfortable but tight seat. Pull the ribbon to unlock the tongue. Further adjustment options are provided by the chinstrap on the side of the metal buckle

CONEHEAD⢠CONEHEAD⢠is a revolutionary method of molding EPS foam to increase the impact properties of helmets. The helmet is molded in two stages and features two parts in two different densities, with a unique conical interface. How Conehead TechnologyTM works ? There are two different densities of foam as well as two different foams with their own characteristics of recovery from impact and inter-foam bond strength. In a crash, the impact force pushing towards the head causes the cones to compress which creates lateral forces spreading sideways through the higher density outer foam layer. Impact energy/force is absorbed by this lateral motion. At the same time, the head is travelling in the opposite direction, compressing the base of the lower density cones and slowing the accelerating head. The result is lower G-force experience for your head. The benefit: a lighter helmet + softer protective shock absorbing foam closer to your head. Helmets are designed and optimized for straight impacts. They do not consider angled impacts. In an angled impact rotational violence is transferred to the head and the brain. MIPS is a low friction layer inside the helmet which allows the head to rotate relative to the helmet in an angled impact. This substantially reduces rotational violence and the potential for damage to the brain.

How People Fall? Conventional helmets are tested by dropping them vertically onto a solid surface. They are designed to protect you from straight / radial impacts. For over 15 years, MIPS has researched how people crash in the real world. Collaborating with some of the world s leading neurosurgeons and experts, MIPS® has established that when you fall, your head most often hits the ground at an angle, creating a rotational shock to the brain. This rotational shock can cause strain in your brain. A helmet with MIPS® absorbs much of that rotational energy, offering you better protection. And if, against all the odds, you do fall vertically onto your head, a SCOTT helmet with MIPS® will protect you just as well as an ordinary helmet. MIPS imitated the brain s own protection system he Brain is suspended in a low friction cerebrospinal fluid which allows your brain to slide within your skull to protect the brain under impact. MIPS® Brain Protection System is a unique technology intended to protect your brain against angled impacts by imitating the brains natural low friction, barrier, thereby reducing the shock transmitted to your brain. Under angled impact the helmet slides on the MIPS® low friction layer minimizing the rotational violence transfered to the brain.

INTERNAL POLYSTYRENE protective lining, available in three sizes (S, M and L). The special shape and construction in different density increases mechanical resistance in the event of accidental shock. Inner channels studied in the wind tunnel guarantee a perfect ventilation.
The D-RING RETENTION SYSTEM has been designed and patented by Suomy. Insert the free side of the strap in the rings. Pull the end until the strap presses firmly against the jaw. After this operation, it should not be possible to remove the helmet. Verify that by grabbing it from the back and rotating it to the front it cannot be removed and it is fixed to the head. If the helmet tends to come off or rotates freely, tighten the strap again until the right pressure is obtained and repeat test. If after repeating the test you are not able to efficiently tighten the retention system, do not use the helmet. Only after checking the correct tension of the strap, fix the free end locking it with the automatic stud to the release tab. The automatic stud is necessary only to fix the free end of the strap to prevent it from flapping while riding. Fixing the release button does not assure that the helmet is correctly in position and properly fastened: the correct locking of the strap must be verified exclusively following the above paragraphs. To release the retention system, release the automatic stud button and pull the release tab to loosen the closure. Slide out the free end of the strap from the «D Rings». Use the release tab only to remove the helmet! Never release this tab while riding.

INTERNAL SHELL completely removable and washable, in different thicknesses for a complete customization of the product. The internal removable shell has been studied for an uniform stand on the head. The visible channels allow the air flow to check the temperature in the internal part of the helmet and to let off the hot air through the back part.

Wicks sweat away from the body. Keeps the user fresh, dry and comfortable. Lightweight, soft and breathable fabric. Performance verified and certified by ADVANSA. The SHELL is in polystyrene with channels for air flows. In the front part there are upper and back air ventilations, which help the internal helmet ventilation. On the CHIN GUARD there is an air ventilation for the front ventilation.
The OUTER SHELL has ribs to channel better the air flows. The PEAK has an aereodynamic impact. The wide open space in the front allows the use of any kind of glasses.

HPTT Is an exclusive process developed by LS2 researchers and named HPTT (High Pressure Thermoplastic Technology) a mix of polycarbonate is injected into moulds. The moulds used in this high precision industrial process are sculpted from blocks of metal weighing several amount of kilos. Twin Shield System LS2 s drop-down sun shield helps protect the rider s eyes from bright sun, and moves up and out of the way quickly and easily when entering dark tunnels, offering a more comfortable riding experience. Magna-Tech Liner LS2 use a small magnet to hold the neck roll securely in place while riding. Quick Release Strap The metal buckle attaches to a high quality safety strap. On the other strap is a ribbed plastic tab. Insert the ribbed plastic tab into the metal buckle. You ll hear a light "clicking" sound. Continue to slide it until you get a comfortable, snug fit. Pull the ribbon on the lever to release. For additional initial adjustment, use the metal slider buckle on the strap with the ribbed plastic tab to take up excess strap. Reflective Safety Patch To increase rider safety at night or in low visibility conditions the neck roll has a reflective safety patch that glows in the light of other vehicle s headlights.
