The tour will also visit the famous plaster death casts of unfortunate people caught in the eruption and, if appropriate for the group, an ancient brothel. After Pompeii, it’s back into the bus for one of the most unforgettable drives of your life down the hairpin turns and panoramic vistas of the Amalfi coast. It won’t take long for you to see why this is considered Italy’s most scenic drive (although certainly not the easiest to navigate - you’ll be glad you have a driver!). Along the way your guide will enrich the journey with some background on the area’s history and culture, teaching you what life is like at the foot of the world’s most dangerous volcano. After your guide gives you background on the history and culture of the area, you’ll arrive in the lovely Positano.  Following in the footsteps of literary greats like Shelley, Goethe and Steinbeck, you’ll be free to explore this little town on foot, sampling its incredible seafood, browsing the fashionable boutiques, or ordering bespoke, handmade sandals. Trying to see the sights of the Amalfi Coast on your own is a notorious hassle with lines, traffic, and all those hair-pin turns. This tour takes out the stress and distills it into an unforgettable day trip of culture, history, and archaeology. In a group or 15 people or fewer, you will have intimate access to your expert tour guide who will not only ensure that you get where you want to go, but also make the coast come alive with the stories of its past. In good weather it is possible (and enjoyable) to swim on Positano beach. It is recommend to bring a bathing suit and towel if this interests you. In the winter months the tour might replace Positano with Sorrento as more shops and restaurants are open there during this time.

You will have free time to eat at Positano and your guide will be happy to recommend places to eat a full sit-down meal or to grab something quick while shopping. Travelling the length of the loch, you will climb up into the Highlands, over the unique, dramatic landscape of Rannoch Moor and the Black Mount to majestic Glencoe, one of Scotland’s most haunting glens, site of the 1692 massacre of the MacDonald clan.  Continuing via Loch Linnhe, you'll stop in the Fort William area for lunch, then journey onwards, passing beneath Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, before you enter the natural beauty of the Great Glen. Travelling on, you can admire the Caledonian Canal and the pretty village of Fort Augustus, enjoying spectacular views of Loch Ness as you drive along the shoreline to Urquhart Castle.  Loch Ness, 24 miles long and 700 feet deep, is most famous for sightings of the Loch Ness Monster, affectionately known as “Nessie”. You will spend 2 hours at Loch Ness, where you can choose to explore the ruins of Urquhart Castle* and learn of its history inside the modern visitor centre, and also take an Award Winning Jacobite cruise* across the loch.  Passing through Inverness, Capital of the Highlands, you will start your return journey home. Cross the Grampian Mountains and the woodland scenery of Perthshire, including the Forest of Atholl, with an evening refreshment stop at the Victorian resort town of Pitlochry, en route back to Glasgow.  *OPTIONAL EXTRA. The price can vary according to visit date and time selected.  Day The climb departs from morning to late afternoon (after “dawn” and before “twilight”), exposing the hum and buzz of the city in full swing. 5 Things you need to know before your climb Health & Safety Your health and safety is important: If you are pregnant or have any pre-existing health conditions you may need to provide a doctor’s Certificate of Fitness note before you climb. You must have a blood-alcohol reading below 0.05 to climb (the same as if you are driving). You will be asked to complete a BridgeClimb Declaration Form before your Climb. Please be honest about your health so we can ensure your wellbeing is not at risk. All discussions will be confidential.  Preparations How should you prepare for your Climb: Ensure that you have eaten before your Climb and you’re well-hydrated – the experience can last up to 3 ½ hours. Wear comfortable, enclosed rubber-soled shoes such as running, sport or hiking shoes and don’t forget your sunglasses. It is recommend to wear comfortable clothing. You will be equipped with everything else you need for your Climb! Ensure you arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled Climb time to allow enough time to check in. Personal Belongings All your personal belongings can be stored in lockers, including cameras: there are FREE secure lockers for you to keep your personal belongings in, including phones, cameras and GoPros. The Climb Leaders will capture photos of you during your Climb. For safety and security reasons, cameras, video technology and mobile devices are prohibited on the Climb. Restrictions You must be 8 years old and 1.2 metres in height, or taller: Children aged 8 to 15 must be accompanied by and are the responsibility of an adult, with a maximum of three children per adult.  Weather Conditions Climbs operate in all weather conditions: You will equipped with all the gear you need to keep you dry, but remember to bring your own shoes, which should be enclosed, like running shoes. In case of extreme weather conditions like electrical storms or during times of extremely high wind, Climbs may be postponed.
