The participants are received at the meeting point, at the end of the seating area of the dolphinarium, by a guide. He/She will welcome the participants and introduce the activity.
The participants have to shower and change in the prepared facilities at the meeting point. There are lockers and ladies’/gents’ changing rooms and in which they may leave their belongings. After showering and putting on the wet suit, the participants will have to wash their hands with a disinfectant (clorhexidine).
Upon entering the dolphinarium platform each participant will go through a footbath that will contain water and a disinfectant product for footwear (clorhexidine).
The group approaches the pool while the trainers bring the dolphins to be able to give an educational talk about morphology and characteristics.
Once the talk is finished, the visitors sit at the edge of the pool with their feet in the water, having the chance to interact with the dolphins by means of signals under the trainers’ instructions.
Then the group of visitors will enter the pool that has been prepared for the activity and each participant has a moment’s individual Encounter, the chance to interact with the dolphins and has the chance briefly to touch a dolphin [strictly under the instruction and supervision of a qualified trainer].
Upon finishing, the group of visitors will be accompanied to the Meeting area where each participant will have to shower/change and collect his/her belongings.
The group is bid farewell with a message about conservation and protection of the environment.   A truly wonderful unforgettable experience!

Where does the tour start? All tours start outside Gate 2 of Etihad Stadium, located in the Docklands area of the Melbourne CBD. Etihad Stadium can be easily reached via walking, train or tram (take any of trams 11, 35, 48, 70, 75, 86 or 96) and exiting at Southern Cross Station. Do I need to arrive early for my tour? It is advised that you arrive 5 minutes prior to your tour start time so that you can check in and go to the toilet or grab some snacks before the tour starts. What do I need to bring on the tour with me? It is highly recommended that you bring with you a poncho, umbrella, suncream, water and a hat. You can never guess what Melbourne's weather will do next! Do you offer tours in languages other than English? At present all of our tours are conducted only in English however we are working towards offering tours in additional languages. Is the tour suitable for all ages and for wheelchair users? The tour is suitable for all ages however unfortunately is not suitable for wheelchairs. What happens in the event of bad weather? Does the tour still run? A little rain never hurt anybody! City Sports Tours runs in all weathers. The Butterfly Conservatory (October 7th, 2017 - May 29th, 2019) This exhibition, an annual favorite, features up to 500 live, free-flying tropical butterflies from the Americas, Africa, and Asia. The butterflies are housed in a vivarium that approximates their natural habitat, includes live flowering plants that serve as nectar sources, and features controlled artificial light, temperature, and humidity. T. rex: The Ultimate Predator: (March 11, 2019 - June 16th, 2019) This exhibition will focus on the on the genus of dinosaurs known as tyrannosaurs. The exhibition will explore how these mega-predators came to be, with an emphasis on the most famous and impressive member of the family, Tyrannosaurus rex.
