This is simply the best way to travel between elegant Melbourne and vibrant Sydney (or in reverse), because you see so many iconic sights on the way. The Victorian Alps, the Great Dividing Range, vast forests and mighty rivers. Learn about some great Australian legends: Ned Kelly and the infamous bushrangers (outlaws) when you’re in Mansfield and the frenetic Australian gold rush of the 1850s around Beechworth. Ned Kelly stood trial for murder here, but the town is now equally famous for its abundant local produce. Stay overnight on a genuine working farm, talking with the family, learning about farm life, meeting the wildlife and farm animals. Then it’s on to the nation’s stately capital of Canberra, with its history, imposing Parliament House, museums, art galleries and memorials. Your tour ends in Sydney, then you can independently explore this fabulous city with its Opera House beside the sea. With small tour groups, there is plenty of time to get out and explore nature at its very best. You will set off from Edinburgh with views of the iconic Forth Rail Bridge as we cross the Firth of Forth entering into the ancient “Kingdom of Fife”. Here you can pause for a photo stop at the historic village of Aberdour, before continuing into the East Neuk of Fife.  You will then travel through the picturesque villages of St. Monans and Pittenween, once thriving fishing centres which were made prosperous by trade with the continent, before stopping in the town of Anstruther, home of the Scottish Fisheries Museum.  Leaving Anstruther, journey through Crail and then arrive in the beautiful medieval town of St. Andrews in time for lunch. Here you can enjoy a walk around the town which is famous as the home of golf and has the best known golf course in the world. It also has a pretty cathedral and castle, now both ruined, and is home to Scotland’s oldest university - where Prince William met Kate. You will have approximately three hours of free time to explore its medieval buildings and wonderful cobbled streets, as well as having time for lunch.  Heading homewards you will travel across the Lomond hills descending to Loch Leven Mon, Wed, Fri & Sun | ALL YEAR Departs: 09:00 Returns: 17:45
