The California Highway Patrol was established in 1929 and has since grown to become the largest state police force in America. The CHP has the largest fleet of patrol vehicles in the US and selected Chevy’s Turbo-Fire V-8 equipped Bel Air for their Chief's patrol vehicle. Ford Thunderbird 1st generation 1955-1957 was the first two seater convertible produced since 1938. Ford dubbed this car “a personal car of distinction”. The car was the first step from personal luxury to mass market, encompassing the heritage of the 1930s roadsters and constructed largely of existing components. The focus for this model was driver comfort rather than speed and was deemed far more popular than the Corvette. Complete with matching hardtop, a must for your collection.
