TOUR DETAILS This journey through Arizona’s history blends indigenous heritage with a rugged off-road ride. The Ancient Ruins and Diamondback Gulch Combo Tour is a remarkable adventure with both an exciting 4x4 trek and an up-close look at a time when the Sinagua people called this area home.  Your Certified Interpretive Guide will meet you at the Pink® Jeep® Tour Plaza in Sedona. You’ll climb aboard a custom-built, open-air Pink® Jeep® Wranglers and settle in for a true Arizona experience. Wear comfortable shoes, as there is a 30-40 minute walk to reach the Honanki Heritage site once you arrive at the Ancient Ruins site.  To start the tour, your local guide will take you past Sedona’s most iconic red-rock formations. After arriving in the Coconino National Forest, head down the remote Greasy Spoon trail. This section of an original wagon route between Sedona and Prescott dates back to a time before Arizona was a state. Continue on to Sidewinder Trail and see how the rocky terrain falls into Diamondback Gulch—a deep ravine that slices through the land. Hold on while your guide expertly navigates the steep descent and climbs out again.  Then it’s on to Ancient Ruin, where you’ll be immersed in the mystery of the Sinagua people. You’ll see primitive remnants where they lived and worked from 600 AD until the 1400s. Little is known about the Sinagua, but pictographs and petroglyphs offer a glimpse into their history.  Explore the Honanki Heritage site, a 700-year-old cliff dwelling where the Sinagua made their home. Learn how they farmed and hunted, their complicated trading system with other tribes—and how they suddenly vanished in the early 1400s. Although it’s still an active archeological site, enigmas surrounding the Sinagua have yet to be solved.  At the end of the tour you’ll journey back through the forest to Sedona, where Arizona’s rich history lives on. La Mancha is a land of great wines. We will make a stop along the way to visit the winery Mont Reaga in Monreal Del Llano. After a guided tour, we will enjoy a tasting of their best wines. We will have lunch at a typical inn –“mesón”- at Mota del Cuervo. After lunchtime we will visit its famous windmills, who witnessed the battle of Don Quixote against the Giants of his imagination. In there is wind enough, we will see how the flour was traditionally made –“molienda”- from the wheat. The tour will end at El Toboso, the village of Dulcinea, the love of Don Quixote. El Toboso houses the Cervantes Museum, which keep hundreds of Don Quixote translated editions in almost all the languages in the World. And a lot of copies of the great book signed by many international personalities from different countries and eras. The House-Museum of Dulcinea Del Toboso faithfully replicates how was the home of a knight in the times of Cervantes, as it would have been the house of Don Alonso Quijano “El Quixote”. From El Toboso we will return to Madrid, saying good-bye to an extraordinary journey in La Mancha, the land of Don Quixote.

Our first stop is the world famous Rock and Roll hot spot, “Guitar Center” located on the legendary Sunset Blvd. Guitar Center is the nucleus of the Rock & Roll World with hand prints in concrete and bronze plaques of all the music greats. Next we arrive at the one and only “Hollywood Boulevard’s Walk of Fame.” This is the “Center of Hollywood” where you have ample time to visit the Kodak Theater (Dolby Theater) & Chinese Theater (homes of the Oscars with movie stars handprints forever in concrete) as well as the stunningly ornate Roosevelt Hotel where stars and famous people are often seen having lunch; the Hollywood Wax Museum; Ripley’s Believe It or Not; Madame Tussauds; American Cinematheque & Egyptian Theater. Stars such as Tom Cruise, Madonna, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez, Jack Nicholson and so many others live in the magnificent mansions throughout this area and are seen regularly. Romantically stroll along Hollywood Boulevard’s Walk of Fame with the stars at your feet; find your favorite star and take a photo. You also have a wonderful view of the iconic “Hollywood Sign” from the Patio of the Kodak Theater. Don’t forget to pick up a souvenir at one of the many gift shops in this area. Most of our time is spent in the wonderful Hollywood Blvd., area but we still see great views of many famous film locations, the Landmark Biltmore Hotel, Magic Castle, Hollywood United Methodist Church, Warner Brothers Studios & Soundstages, Walt Disney Studios, where most of the classic animated movies were made such as Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, Mary Poppins, Armageddon & the Pirates of the Caribbean, to mention only a few. We also see Pixar Entertainment and ABC Studios alongside Disney. Welcome to Hollywood, the Movie, Music and “Movie Star” capitol of the world! Microbreweries and home-brewing activities have gained in popularity of late, with upwards of 1,500 independent brewers now making quality craft beer all over the country. In light of this ever-increasing interest in the art of the brew, the experts at tour company Urban Oyster have teamed up with Manhattan by Sail’s Clipper City Tall Ship to offer a sightseeing and beer-educating experience along New York's world-renowned harbor.  The Clipper City is the largest sailing vessel in New York, and was built as a lumber-hauling schooner in 1854. She was later rebuilt based on the original plans, which are now part of the Smithsonian Institute’s permanent collection. In the 1980s, the Clipper City was in grave disrepair until Manhattan by Sail’s founder and native New Yorker Tom Berton arranged to have her restored. The revitalized Clipper City (refurbished with people in mind instead of cargo) comfortably accommodates 150 passengers and crew. With her sprawling deck, ample seating and full bar, she measures in at 158 feet long and 120 feet up from the deck.  The Clipper City Craft Beer Tasting Sail sets sail every Saturday and Sunday afternoons. As the beer connoisseurs introduce your taste buds to a variety of exceptional locally brewed lagers and ales, not to mention an assortment of cheeses and charcuterie, the yacht makes its way down the East River. As you learned about beer-making and the various distinctions between brews, the topsail Clipper heads for Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, offering fantastic vantage points of the Manhattan skyline along the way. She sails back toward South Street Seaport where she began, but not before lingering at Lady Liberty and allowing for great views of landmarks like the Empire State Building, the Brooklyn Bridge, Governors Island and the suspended Verrazano-Narrows Bridge with its massive towers and double decks that connect the boroughs of Brooklyn and Staten Island. The views really are stunning, so take advantage of the ship's raised quarter deck for unparalleled sightseeing.  The beer tasting is bookended by opportunities to imbibe at the open bar with a range of liquor, wines and spirits. The crew socializes with the passengers and even welcomes guests to help hoist the sails. At the end of your sail, when you come back to dry land, the South Street Seaport area is a great place to find somewhere delicious to eat, talk about what you learned over a late lunch, and soak up some of that beer.
