SEA LIFE Centre Birmingham 4D Cinema screening: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea Airing from May 1st, Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea has amazed and entertained readers for over 140 years. Re-imagining the classic tale for 21st Century, 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea takes viewers on the journey of teenager Ned as he plunges into a world of adventure aboard the submarine Nautilus commanded by the mysterious Captain Nemo. The thrilling 3D adventure ride features cues for popular 4D effects such as water splashes, wind blasts and bubbles. 3D fish swim out of the screen, bubbles fill the auditorium and viewers will feel the deck of the Nautilus jolt and shake when it is attacked by a giant squid. Penguin Ice Adventure - NOW OPEN Our brand new under-water Ice Adventure has arrived! Come face-to-face with a colony of Gentoo Penguins and adventure in to the rarely seen Antarctic landscape. You can marvel at the cheeky antics of our new feathered friends, as they dive beneath the freezing waters and play in their icy home. With indoor temperatures of 8 degrees Celsius you’ll need to wrap up warm, although the playful penguins will feel right at home. Hear the unmistakable trumpeting sound of the Gentoo and learn about their quirky antics. Touch the iced environment that the penguins call home and give your best imitations of a penguin waddle. Our penguins, which are classified as near-threatened on the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) Red List, will travel half the way around the world to play and swim in their brand new, specially built home.

The first tea party was held at the Hall in 1912. The tradition continues today in the Hall's Verdi Restaurant The Royal Albert Hall Grand Tour is fully accessible. Some time slots and/or dates are unavailable due to events taking place in the auditorium. The Royal Albert Hall was built to fulfil the vision of Prince Albert (Queen Victoria's consort) of a 'Central Hall' that would be used to promote understanding and appreciation of the Arts and Sciences and would stand at the heart of the South Kensington estate, surrounded by museums and places of learning. The Hall is a Grade I Listed building; and has been in continuous use since it was opened in March 1871. It was always conceived as a multipurpose building to host not only concerts of music but exhibitions, public meetings, scientific conversations and award ceremonies. It is a registered charity held in trust for the nation and is financially self sufficient, receiving no funding from central or local government.
