Der CPR12 ist ein einfach verwendbarer, flexibler, mehrfunktionaler 10-Kanal Vorverstärker. Bei sechs Eingangskanälen kann zwischen Mikrofon und Line-Pegel gewählt werden. Sie sind mit einer 3-Band-Klangregelung ausgestattet. Die ersten beiden können auf Priority und Phantomspeisung geschaltet werden. Die anderen vier Kanäle sind Line-Eingänge. Jeder Eingangskanal verfügt über einen eigenen Gain-Regler, einen Lautstärke-Fader und eine PFL-Taste. Dies ermöglicht ein Vorhören jedes Eingangs- bzw. Ausgangskanals mit dem integrierten Vorhör-Lautsprecher. Jeder Eingangskanal kann auf einen oder beide Ausgangskanäle verteilt werden. Diese Funktionen machen den CPR12 zu einem vollwertigen Zwei-Zonen System. Weitere Funktionen des CPR12 sind ein Priority-Eingang, ein Aufnahmeausgang, separate Subgruppen-Kanäle und den 24 V Gleichspannungs-Notstromanschluss. Die letztgenannte Funktion ermöglicht die Versorgung des CPR12 mit Notstrom, wenn die Hauptstromversorgung ausfällt. In diesem Fall schaltet der Priority-Eingang automatisch sämtliche Eingangssignale stumm, und es ertönt eine Notfalldurchsage. Das 19\"-Stahlgehäuse hat eine Höhe von 2 HE.
