The Yale 84 standard nightlatch security lock is key operated from the outside and lever handle operated from the inside. The latch automatically deadlocks on closing the door and the snib function (bolt hold back button) enables the latch to be held back. Supplied with 1109 Cylinder in brass. The 84 series security nightlatches have a 40mm backset, this is the measurement from the edge of the door to the centre of the keyhole. Locks with a 40mm backset are normally used where there is restricted space, such as on a narrow glass panelled door.This Yale P84DMGPB has a hardened Case Finish in Dark Metallic Grey and the Cylinder is finished in Polished Brass. Place the spindle bar through an existing tubular latch or lock and position one handle over the spindle bar. Ensuring the handle is square, mark the screw hole positions with a bradawl.2. Drill Ø2mm pilot holes and reposition the handle before securing using the wood screws provided.3. If fitting Bathroom handles, now insert the bathroom spindle bar through the deadbolt hole of the lock from the outside of the door and place the thumbturn onto the spindle bar. Tighten the grubscrew on the underside with the hex key provided.Designed to be used with a mortice bathroom lock with centres of 57mm.
