PAO: 12 months The "La barca della salute" Project The project, in collaboration with the nonprofit organizations forPlanet and Amazonia, aims to support the population living in the Brazilian Rio Jauaperi rainforest. This is one of the few areas of the Amazon rainforest which is still intact - so it is important to promote the preservation of tropical biodiversity. The area is inhabited by the Caboclos, a population that lives in perfect balance and harmony with nature. However, due to their isolation they are living under bad hygienic conditions and lack of basic medical care. The aim of the project is to improve living conditions and health care, thus minimising the emigration that threatens the conservation of this forest.
