You’ll also see Lake Mead, a reservoir created by the Hoover Dam. Upon arrival at the West Rim, you’ll climb aboard an ECO Star helicopter for a trip over the edge. Windsor Castle It covers an area of 26 acres and contains, as well as a royal palace, a magnificent chapel and the homes and workplaces of a large number of people. What there is to see: The magnificent State Apartments are furnished with some of the finest works of art from the Royal Collection, including paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, Canaletto, Gainsborough and the famous triple portrait of Charles I by Sir Anthony van Dyck. In 1992 fire destroyed or damaged more than 100 rooms at the Castle. By good fortune the rooms worst affected were empty at the time, and as a result, few of the Castle's artistic treasures were destroyed. The historic centre was, in 1984, as a whole, declared a world heritage site by UNESCO. The Roman Bridge, the Torre de la Calahorra, the streets of the Jewish Quarter, the Synagogue, the Sotos of Albolaifa and the royal stable are just some of the few attractions we will see during the tour. We will also visit the Mosque which today remains an important gem of Islamic art. The Mezquita (Mosque) dates back to the 10th century when Córdoba reached its zenith under a new emir, Abd ar-Rahman 111 who was one of the great rulers of Islamic history. At this time Córdoba was the largest, most prosperous cities of Europe, outshining Byzantiumand Baghdad in science, culture and the arts. The development of the Great Mosque paralleled these new heights of splendour.
