Whether it’s your first or 50th, there’s something about riding on an airboat through the Florida Everglades at Wild Florida that makes you want to shout, “Again!” Our U.S. Coast Guard approved airboats can skim across the shoreline while you look for wildlife, or disappear into endless beautiful swamps, marshes and rivers. Our experienced captains have a knack for being able to pick out alligators, eagles, and other wildlife that build their homes in the waterways near Wild Florida. Each time you head out onto the water, you’ll see and experience something different. For variety, you can choose from a half-hour, hour, private, or night-time adventure. We get asked a lot about bringing young children on our airboats. Children under 3 are free, and the steady vibrations and fresh air often puts them right to sleep! Safety is our top priority on our airboat rides. We provide life jackets and ear protection for each guest on our voyages out into the Florida Everglades.  We are committed to the health, safety, and well-being of our guests, staff, and animals. No job is so important and no service is so urgent that we cannot take time to perform our work safely to prevent accidents or  injuries to our guests and animals. Here are a few safety points and plans for our guests and animals. Airboat Operations Wild Florida has a great reputation when it comes to our airboat tours. We have never had an accident and plan to keep it that way. Our vessels are U.S. Coast Guard approved and inspected on an annual basis. On the vessels are life preservers for each guest, fire extinguishers, a flare gun, and a throw ring if necessary. In case of an emergency, we have an accident plan We have an incident report if needed Our loading dock is ADA Compliant There is always a way to communicate to home base and/or 911 anywhere on site or while out on an airboat tour   Gator and Wildlife Park Safety In case of a snake bite, we have a snake bite protocol. Our animals are checked regularly by a veterinarian. We have a veterinarian on call at all times. We have an accident plan for emergencies. In our Gator and Wildlife Park, we have over 200 animals on display, including zebras, sloths, lemurs, bobcats, and other exotic species. We have a walk-in bird aviary with ducks, parrots and other birds from all over the world. Our animal keepers are very knowledgeable about the habits and history of the animals in our Gator and Wildlife Park. You can even fulfill your lifelong dream by working as an animal keeper for a day. It’s only one of the many interactive programs we have with our animals. What You Can Expect Tower of London The Tower of London has been an essential part of British royal history for almost 1,000 years and is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At the Tower, you can admire the breathtaking Crown Jewels, stand on the execution site of three British queens and listen to mesmerising myths and legends that have surrounded the Tower for centuries. Hampton Court Palace The oldest remaining English Tudor palace, King Henry VIII developed this majestic palace after acquiring it in the 1520s. Wonder the corridors, enjoy the extensive gardens, discover the sights and smells of Henry VIII's Kitchen, explore the famous 17th-century maze and visit the excellent exhibitions. After we pick you up straight from the Mgarr Harbour, on both bus lines we'll take you to Xewkija, Bus Stop 2, one of the most picturesque villages in Gozo. Thanks to your high position on the open-top buses, you'll be able to see the incredible Rotunda of Xewkija from far away, which is also known as the Church of Saint John the Baptist, built in the late 17th century. If you fancy trying some of the local cuisine then hop-off at Bus Stop 3 to visit Savina Creativity at the Magro Food Village. The food in Gozo will make your taste buds go crazy! Or if you fancy a long walk, hop-off at Bus Stop 4 to complete the trail from Victoria all the way to Dwejra Heritage Park. The walk is about 13km so we recommend you buy a 48 hour bus ticket if you want to do this walk, just so you have enough time to explore other destinations too! At Bus Stop 5 you'll find Ta Dbiegi, a place rich with the Maltese culture, with an array of colours, and you'll discover some of the finest craft and glass shops. Enrich yourself with the heritage of Gozo by visiting the Museum of Archaeology, located at Bus Stop 8. Everyone remembers where they were on September 11, 2001. An event that shook the world, the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center changed the path of recent history in a way we still see every day. Visit Ground Zero to gain a deeper understanding of 9/11, the affect it had on the city (and the world!) and the long struggle undergone in New York City to move forward from that day.  With an expert local guide, you’ll explore not just the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, but the areas and landmarks around the World Trade Center that featured so poignantly in news reports after the attacks. Traveling in small groups, you’ll visit St. Paul’s Chapel, where friends and families gathered to hear news of their loved ones, and where handmade prayers and memorials still lie.  At Brookfield Place (previously known as the World Financial Center) you’ll learn about the economic effects of the attack and the struggle to rebuild afterwards. You’ll visit the Eleven Tears Memorial, a touching and personal memorial, which commemorates the 11 American Express employees that died in 9/11. The Winter Garden is another must-see on Vesey Street. You may have missed it on your own, but with a local guide leading the way, you won’t miss a beat.  After that we’ll head for Ground Zero, to see the stunning 9/11 Memorial Pools, each one built in the footprint of one of the twin towers, and inscribed with the names of all those who perished in the attack. Your guide will take this time to give you a more personal account of the tragedy that unfolded here, taking you to the Fireman’s Memorial and the Survivor Tree to tell you the incredible stories of courage and loss that unfolded right where you stand.  The last stop on our tour is one we’ll let you manage on your own. The 9/11 Museum is a very well curated space, with artifacts salvaged from the event on display, alongside countless personal stories. It’s a very moving visit, best taken in at your own pace in silence. We still have one last perk though – we’ve pre-reserved your museum tickets, so you’ll skip long lines to gain immediate access.
