Der Palmer Speaker Simulator PDI03 kombiniert Lastimpendanz, Signal-Splitter und DI-Box speziell für Gitarristen. Alle Funktionen sind für Live- und Recording-Einsatz optimiert. Anstelle einer Lautsprecherbox wird der PDI-03 direkt an den Verstärkerausgang angeschlossen, das Signal wird nicht mehr mit Mikrofon abgenommen, sondern nach einer besonderen Filterstufe direkt in Mischpulte, Bandmaschinen etc. eingespeist. Dadurch können vor allem Verstärker ohne Master-Volumen voll in Endstufenverzerrung gefahren werden, das leidige Lautstärkeproblem wird ausgeschlossen. Der Filter simuliert die Charakteristik verschiedener Lautsprecher und Boxentypen: offener 2 x 12\" Combo, geschlossene 4 x 12\" Box mit ihrem typischen Bassdruck und Stack mit \"V\"-Einstellung eines Equalizers, \"amerikanische\" oder \"englische\" Speaker und Presence/Bright. Die Lautstärke der neun möglichen Kombinationen läßt sich individuell einstellen. Vier ungefilterte regelbare Line Outs können Effektgeräte ansteuern. Lautsprecher für Live-Monitoring werden über die Thru-Buchse angeschlossen, die Lastimpendanz ist dabei automatisch abgeschaltet. Die maximale Eingangsleistung beträgt 100 W ohne angeschlossene Lautsprecher.
