Discover an array of tropical sharks, beautiful rays and colourful coral beneath the ocean surface. Turtle Sanctuary: Visit our brand new refuge for endangered freshwater turtles, the latest in a Europe-wide network of breeding facilities for these strange and exotic animals… many of which have been pushed to the brink of extinction. Our seal hospital is busy all year round caring for sick and injured seal pups until, whenever possible, they are well enough to be returned to the wild. Other highlights include an incredible otter sanctuary, penguin sanctuary and a whole host of other incredible marine creatures. Informative talks and feeding presentations throughout the day make this a memorable day out for the whole family. Restaurant: Indoor: Relax in our café where a selection of hot and cold food is available. We also offer a kids meal with a free gift. Hot food is served from 11 am until 4pm (3pm in winter) Outdoor: From Easter to the end of October you can relax at the outdoor themed seating area and take in the superb views over the North bay. 2 Hour Zip Line Eco Tour: You will travel close to three quarters of a mile over five consecutive zip lines at heights of 300 feet above the canyon floor at speeds pushing 45mph. Beginning at the Hog's Back gate, high in the hills near Avalon and descending through Descanso Canyon, you will pause at several eco-stations along the way before continuing on your journey. At each station, your hosts will give you a presentation on some of the unique and interesting aspects of Catalina Island, its wildlife, history, and the areas you are passing through. Eventually exiting at Descanso Beach, your journey will last approximately 2 hours and your memories will last a lifetime.
